LD Flap reconstruction-Before, During and After
I am 62, diagnosed with ILC in Dec 2014, and Bi-Lateral Mastectomy with LD Flap reconstruction scheduled for April 28, 2015. I am looking for information from anyone who has undergone a BMX with LD Flap reconstruction done at time of surgery with no implants-pain after surgery, time in hospital and recovery length time. My 90 year old mom lives with my husband and I and I caregive for her 4PM-8AM M-F and all weekend. She is fairly independent, has all her buttons and gets around with a walker but needs help cleaning up in the bathroom. I am fairly healthy, not overweight, but not as physically fit as I should be. My concern is figuring out how much help I will need and for how long, and how soon I may be able to getting back to helping her.
