How often to take pain meds

so I had my bilateral mastectomy with tissue expanders on Feb 4 (6 days ago). Percocet and Vicodin made me I'll so they put me on Dilautid which works really well. They sent me home on 06 Feb with 25 to take every 4-6 hours which I have been doing because it really eases the pain. The thing is I'm almost out. Will they refill it or will they tell me to suck it up (nicely of course!) and switch to tylenol? Just wondering what other people have experienced before I ask for a refill because It really is helping. Thank you

    Hi JFo,

Hope you get some relief from the pain.  I would ask the prescribing doctor to refill your prescription.  It's a hassle these days as you have to have a new handwritten Rx to get the pain meds refilled.  If the surgeon won't refill it for you, maybe you can discuss the issue with your PCP.

    hugs,

    Bren

I have been given Codeine which is powerful drug and been cautioned

by the doctor because it is a narcotic and one can become dependent

on it as well as addicted.

But it also has negative side effects and I don't sleep well

when I take it. But since I don't feel normal everytime I take codeine

I started to look for something else to relieve pain.

A formula I never used before was Oriel herbs which are herbs and

antioxidants. Anyway, I have been using this formula for several months

now and the pain is better and reduced my codeine dose.

But later, the pain has become bearable that I have stopped codeine completely

and now I use ordinary pain medicine such as aspirin or ibuprofen..

I recommend Oriel formula for cancer pain, it has fixed the codeine

    problems.

By the way, Oriel is also for cancers, not just for pain..

    Oriel is found at
