Waiting sucks
I am a new poster, but lurking for a bit now so I figured I would join in on the general complaining of waiting for test results. In our world of everything is instant waiting even a few days is absolute torture!
I am a 38 yr old mom of 4 who noticed breast discoloration right after the new year. After waiting almost a month, changing soaps and buying a "genie bra" I finally broke down and called my DR. I went in the next day and she said honestly that she had no idea what the skin changes were and sent me to the breast center. After a diagnostic mammogram and an ultrasound it was determined that I do in fact have a lesion in my breast and I was sent for a consultation which ended up as a fine needle aspiration , core biopsy and a punch biopsy. My skin discoloration is not "classic" for inflammatory breast cancer but my breast surgeon wanted to be absolutely sure as it can present in different ways for different people. My breast looks like a piece of raw sausage that varies in red and bruised like appearance. And has been noted as "microvascular change in the skin" So with a very sore breast I am here researching and reading. Heres to hoping we all get answers soon!

Staara,
Here's to hoping you get your results soon, and that they are good news!
I'm waiting for my results after my core biopsy on Tuesday. I figure Friday or maybe early next week it will be my turn to hear the news.
Good thoughts and prayers sent your way.

Still no word, huh? Me neither. I feel like I'm going nuts! Seriously, if I could just go out somewhere and scream myself hoarse....

littleblueflowers,
Saw your post from 12 minutes ago. Doesn't it seem like time is standing still, or at least going super, super slow?!!!
Let me know when you hear something!

Thanks
Good luck to you as well. The waiting is bound to make someone insane!

Staara,
I think the waiting is making us ALL insane! At least that's how I feel.
Sending good thoughts your way, and littleblueflowers, too. I know you are both expecting results today.

Well, I just had a call from my BS nurse. She asked me to come in at 3:15 today to get my results. I asked her if there was anything I could do to find out sooner or over the phone if I have cancer, and she said there wasn't. So now....awaiting a 3:15 appointment. She sounded chipper and cheerful on the phone...Oh God...how to get through the day until then? I feel like I"m walking toward the guillotine! All you ladies out there waiting....hugs and strength to you! Lots of love to you!

littleblueflowers,
Just remember that it was posted on here that some places have you come in for results, positive or benign.
I'll be thinking of you and praying SUPER HARD for you, my friend. I'm tearing up right now thinking about how worried you must be.
I'll be walking beside you today as you go in for your results. Please let me know how it goes.
Prayers, prayers, and more prayers are headed your way, along with tons of hugs!
Love & Hugs,
Wrinklequeen

Well I know it may not help BUT a hot shower, cup of tea and a book will pass the time. Best of luck!

Still waiting...I called and was told the results are in and that the receptionist would pass it along to the BS and her nurse so whoever could give me a call back quickest would...This is pure torture.
Thank goodness for homework to pass the time!
-
my thoughts are with you.....and my fingers are crossed for you. Hope your phone rings soon!

Dear Waiters,
Thinking of you all, I'm going to go through this next week. MRI on Monday, followed by biopsies probably on Wednesday. We suspect fat necrosis, but until it's under a microscope, you really never know. Grrh.
