What's in store for me?

I'm 47 with an 8 and 10 year old. I was just diagnosed yesterday with infiltrating ductal carcinoma. The biopsy came back as a grade 3. The tumor is 3.4 cm based on the ultrasound (still waiting for MRI results). I am negative for both estrogen and progesterone and HER2 was too close to call. Therefore I may or may not be looking at triple negative cancer. Can someone share what their treatment was for a similar diagnosis and did the cancer return?

    Hi there,

Sorry you had to be here but welcome to the group. I don't have a diagnosis like yours (though I am 47 with a 10yo so I can relate at least on that level).

There is a section at the bottom of the topics for finding people with similar diagnoses, including (if this is the case with you) triple negative BC. https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/72

Just take it easy when reading about other people's side effects and complications. Sometimes we need to vent and this is a great place, but never forget that sometimes things go just fine. Try to get a surgeon you trust, get a second opinion if you want to (they should be helpful with this) and come back with questions, concerns, or anything. You will find the people here are a great resource.

I hope all goes well with you, and am sending virtual hugs your way. ((()))
