Lopsided TEs

I just had my BMX. my left side is small which is fine, and the right side is 2-3 cm higher and fuller. I look like a kid who's hides balls under their shirt to make them look like boobs. Will see surgeon on Tuesday. right now I'm really angry and depressed. Is unevenness to this degree normal?

So tired of everything.

    Yes it was for me. My TE's were lopsided even though I had lat flaps & they should have been even. I had one that was higher up my chest & one that looked to the floor. When I had my exchange it all worked out evenly but in the meantime I had the stupid expanders in for 9 months. It's was a long haul and very tiring but I felt it was very worth it in the end. GG

    I haven't had my tissue expanders placed yet as I am still going through chemo but I was told by my PS because the tissue expanders are a smooth surface they tend to travel to places with least resistance (hence lopsided looking). I believe one theyreplace the expander with an implant they should look symmetrical.

    I am sure that once the implants are in, they'll be fine, but that's awhile from now. In the interim, they stay lopsided?

    not many people chiming in, i'm assuming this is not the norm.

    Mine have to be in for a year cuz I need radiation and then I have to wait to have surgery again. A year!!! Omg.

    diva, I think I mentioned on another thread to you - mine are totally lopsided. Have been for months!

    I've got weirdly used to it at this stage. For a while I wore a coobie bra with the padded insert on just the one side to even things out. Now I usually don't bother - no one notices under my clothes.

    PS assures me it'll all fix in exchange

    thanks ladies...makes me feel better. Yesterday my hubby was sponge bathing me while I held on to my drains. I felt so undignified for lack of a better word. I had to turn my back and just be happy for some water pouring down me, not believeing the past year and looking forward to the future

    Of all the things I've read lately, your last post made me cry. I'm way to visual and I felt like I was there (I was a few months ago). I feel for your "dignity" but I am so happy you have someone there that loves you enough to do it. It made me wonder what he was thinking..

    Mine are also very lopsided. I'm currently filled to 780 and am only 5'1". These look ridiculous. I will have mine in for at least 14 months total before I can have my exchange. If I had known how painful and embarrassing this was going to be, I doubt I would have done it. I was recently told they will need to empty the expander on my non Cancer side before I start radiation. No idea how I will hide having a uniboob.

    Mine are lopsided as well. Even though they are the same volume, my non-cancer side is higher and fuller than the other and they don't point in the same direction. I've been repeatedly reassured by my surgeon that the implants will be even.

    I was told it is the only way they can get the beam onto the Cancer side. Ugh. TE's will be at 900 when they do it. I'm already super self aware of how I look. I don't know wether to laugh or cry.
