I have my lumpectomy surgery tomorrow morning. Panicked... And of course Friday I got my genetic test results back.. Inconclusive. Can't I catch a break here. Stage one.. Which is the one thing I'm happy about with this whole thing. Any words of wisdom would be super helpful.

No words of wisdom but lots of good wishes for you today and tomorrow, Stacy. I know it's so frustrating to lack answers to so many questions - it really takes a psychic toll, I believe. I hope your pathology will be both very clear cut and very good news. Try to enjoy today as best you can (right, like it's that easy. Not.)

You might find some helpful insights in the Lumpectomy Lounge thread or the surgery thread for this month.

    Good luck!

Also want to wish you the best! Take a small pillow to put between breast and seat belt for your ride home.

Best wishes for your surgery. I just had mine Tuesday. I am stage 2. I am waiting...and waiting...and waiting for my results for next steps for treatment. I can deal with the pain post surgery. The waiting on results is the hardest part. The good news for you is that you are only stage 1 so hold on to that and stay positive :)

my surgery went well... And the waiting is killing me. I thought I'd find something out at my first post op app.. But I really didn't. ( had my first real breakdown) needed to order an oncotype dx to find out about chemo. Had 2 lymph nodes removed and both had isolated cancer cell. So now I'm stage 1 B grade 3. Have an app with oncologist next week and hopefully get some real answers. Trying to stay positives

Dear Stacy - Just wanted to send you some support as you slog through yet another round of the endless waiting. That's one really tough aspect of this disease that takes most of us by surprise.

I'm sorry about your nodes - I know that changes a lot of things, especially in how we ourselves look at our situation. I would think it's good that they were isolated cancer cells, rather than otherwise, but that's just an educated guess.

I hope the weather there has improved to the point that you can at least enjoy getting out and doing something this weekend, Stacy, to help get through the waiting. Hang in there.

What a sucky way to start your new year, Stacy. I'm sorry. I know it's a LOT to face and hope that the benefit for you will prove to be more than equal to the downsides.

I know there are threads for those starting chemo and hope those women can help you through this. (((Hug)))
