I slipped and fell on the ice breaking my right elbow. I have mild LE in that arm, what should I be on the lookout for?

Oh, no! I'd book an appointment right away with an LE specialist to work preventatively on swelling. I hope the doctors took LE into account when treating you.

2 years ago last month, In slipped on one of the dog's bones in the hall (not very exciting as the surgeon told me considering we had several feet of snow outside at the time ). I had no problems with my LE during that time. My LE Guy was in the OR and after they were finished with surgery, he wrapped above the cast and fingers which I did keep above wrapped but did not need to do fingers. My worst area is elbow (above and below) but basically never any issues in fingers/hand/wrist with the right compression level (light) but heavy compression makes hand swell and fingers turn into 'over stuffed sausages'.

Definitely talk with your LE Therapist for the best way for you to handle/deal with any issues that might arise.

    Did you need surgery?

I broke my wrist on my LE arm. The cast was kind of loose, but my arm would swell, then the cast got tight. That made my fingers swell, they normally don't. The whole thing made me crazy, and I was concerned about cellulitis.

They cut the cast after 3 weeks, I used a splint for a few more. I don't have full ROM, I can live with it.

Good luck, and keep your ortho informed!
