INSOMNIACS place to talk in the wee hours

There's a reason they call it the PRACTICE of medicine.
-
I think some of it has to do with communication. I have had several Drs. That we're obviously very shy, introverted, socially challenged. When I was going through chemo, I got frustrated with my MO. But in hindsight, she was doing her job. Of course, I was so stinkin sick, weak, starving, I was cranky at the world.
After chemo & rads, I decided I wanted to get Zometa twice a year, to hopefully prevent bone mets. She said it was not protocol, I would not benefit from it. I stood my ground, said I was going to do it, even I have have to pay out of pocket. I will recieve my 3rd infusion in April.
Those of you that are dealing with the stage 4 dx, that is a different reality. I admire you all, for your ability to stay sane, be in the moment, put up with Chevys bull€ra@.... He, he, see if she catches that one.....seriously, I have learned from you all.
PattyHOOTPepper, are you home?
Susan, safe travels.....
-
Hoottie-hooooo!!
It never gets easier to hear about new angles, I was following raro on here for awhile, never posted because I'm not stage 4 but I read her threads. I also remember seeing Delirium Pie, I didn't realize she was so young.

My BRACA came back negative...thank goodness!
I just wanted to add to the MO talked, I have a love/hate relationship with mine. She pisses me off to no end sometimes, but she has also sat and listened to me talk about things too. I think she tries to be "tough" about protocols, but then realizes that she is not dealing with a patient, but a person and backs down.
btw, I hate cancer....
((hugs))

Work today is making me feel:

-
tangandchris, congrats on the negative!! We can win the battles one at a time.
-
Jazzy, Spookie & Mags,
you guys hit that one right on the head!
-
Tang- congrats on the negative BRACA.
Jwoo- just too funny!
-
-
Sas and I met for lunch today after she finished some tests. Then we sat in our cars, smoked, and talked for a few hours. And tried not to freeze. I know, no sympathy from the northern ice bergs! I'll post our low tomorrow. Brrrrr
-
Spookie- you two sound like teenagers! Sorry to hear about the cold, I heard it moved down into the south and is freezing in the sunny south. Stay warm!
-
Rose - I hear your frustration. There probably are good reasons for the fuzziness and variability of the answers, as per Jazzy above, but it does get frustrating, especially when there's such tunnel vision - "well, we're saving your life here - how can you worry about lymphedema (heart failure, diabetes, etc.) or quality of life?"
-
I can't sleep but I am so tired. I have to be up early so I don't want to take anything at this point. Frustrating....
-
Dutchie,
Ohmmmmn....
-
i haven't slept well in a couple days. I was called in to work at 4:15 am yesterday and worked until 3:30 pm. I did fall asleep for about an hour. How's the shoulder Holeinone?
-
Ohmmmmm? Am I to meditate?
-
-
Yes, absolutely, which leads to yawning, then shut eye. Shoulder is a royal pain in the neck. I am ready to move on with the stretching, range of motion, gently, of course. I have a appt. On Monday with the surgeon. The rehab & PT will be slow but part of the process.
YOU FEEL SLEEPY.......
-
Is that us in that tree? Which one am i?
-
the cute one with heavy SLEEPY eyes.....ummmnn
-
Dutchie- the prettiest one!
-
You're so funny. I don't see any sleepy eyes in that pic. Between 2/24 and 4/2 I see the BS, MO, PCP, and Derm. Great fun.
-
Wow, the cute one and the prettiest one? Maybe I need to stay up late more often. People vision is less that clear late at night.
-
Which one am I?
-
Okay you two Florida gals! WAKE UP!
http://weather.aol.com/forecast/us/denver/id/80212 We are having the same temperature now.... Hah!
34 DEGREES!!!!!!!!!! You are probably icicles by now... You might have to put on your wooly parka, and sweat-pants.
-
And so you both were sitting in the car..... SMOKING?????????? You tramps! And you probably were parked near some college, with your sun-glasses and flip-flops, waving at all the guys walking by.... Oh! And holding that bottle of wine out the window! Smoke pouring out the windows,..... You say you were smoking weed?
I wish you would have taken pictures... You had your halter-tops on? That's what I heard anyway.....figures.
-
-
Actually we were about a mile from USF. That's
U
Stay
Forever
And this is for you chevy

-
Chevy- I heard they were wearing halter tops and short shorts! I want pics too!
I have had not great sleep either. I fall asleep fine but wake up at 4 a.m. and then never really get back to sleep. So today I am tired and also woke up with a headache. UGH. I will nap later, of that I am sure.
Hoping all the insomniacs are doing okay on this Friday.
-
Meanwhile in North Carolina......
