I'm not sure, but I too am stage 1, grade 3.  The grade basically means how quickly the tumor was replicating and how aggressive it was.  If you have your Oncotype done, that will help your MO help you decide what needs to be done.  Your hormone receptors also play a part in your treatment as well.

I am undergoing chemotherapy based on the grade and the score which was 23.  It was in the intermediate or "grey" area because not many studies have been done on it.  Down the line it could help cut my recurrence by up to 5% more which is good with me.

I'm sure someone will be along shortly that can help you more.

    Dear waiting-to-exhale.

Like you and ml143333 I was diagnosed with stage 1, grade 3, but way back in 2009. I am sorry I don't have any answers for you either as to which gives one a higher chance of recurrence, stage or grade.

But as you can see I am getting close to 6 years from diagnosis and treatment, so just wanted to let you know there is lots of hope for no recurrence even with grade 3, I am still here and cancer free. I see the MO once a year now, have some tumor marker blood tests, and have mammograms once a year as well.

From the time I discovered the lump to the biopsy and diagnosis, the lump seemed to grow very quickly, so maybe that's an indicator of grade 3, sure wish I could help, you need to talk to your doctor is my best advice.

I am now 73 years old, so quality of life was important to me, so I did just the lumpectomy and radiation, no hormonal therapy or chemo.

Wishing you the very best outcome from whatever treatment you decide on.

Hi.  I too was dx with stage 1 grade 3.   In 4 mos I had gone from a couple tumors I didn't know I had to ones I could feel under the skin with my finger.   I had the BMX /recon.  Were you ER/PR + ?

I don't think anyone can give you a definitive answer.  At least I haven't gotten one.   I think the important thing is where you go from here with it.   <3,
