Really wish my phone would ring!!!!!
I'm not so patiently waiting for results and I'm waving back and forth between being positive and wanting to vomit from nerves/anxiety. Tired of being in limbo and I've got things 'on hold' Please oh please oh PLEASE let me get an answer by tomorrow..... Don't thing I can handle not knowing all weekend!
((Posted previously in a different forum.. in case you're interested on the 'back story' of my stress/anxiety lol ..... Biopsy was Tuesday )
I had a biopsy last year. Mammo this year showed the same (?) area again so they recommended another biopsy. I live in an area with mediocre (at best) healthcare, so with my doctor recommendation I went to MD Anderson for consult/care. and HOLY MOLY!! Went Friday and consulted with the MD, had diagnostic mammo bilaterally (because the radiologist here missed some things), bilateral ultrasound and then followed up with the MD at the end of the day. All that resulted in learning I've got dense breasts (she equated them to a teenagers), a fibroadenoma here and there, and a cluster of micro calcifications (8mm) near or the exact location that was biopsied last year. Problem we discovered is one-- the marker/clip didn't stay in when they did the procedure last year AND two... the post biopsy mammo is no where to be found. So the report says '100% clear' but there is no evidence that they really took out 100% of the calcs. (MD and radiologist friday could only identify 2 calcifications on the slides)
Anyway... so I went back up today for the sterotactic biopsy. And geez... talk about a huge difference!! Last year it took about 3 hours (start to finish). Table was awful. They had difficulty locating the area. This year.... in and out in less than an hour!! That includes the paperwork, instructional video, and post procedure care!!! They got me in, pulled, squished, poked and sent me on my way! (and ensured the clip stayed put and took post mammos!)
I should know results HOPEFULLY by the end of the week! I'm NOT a patient person! ;-)

The waiting is definitely the hardest! By any chance did they give you a BIRAD score?

Dear TXrunnerchic, Welcome to the BCO forum, we're sorry you had to be here but very glad you found this caring and knowledgeable group.
Waiting for results is a terrible time as everyone on here will empathise with as they have gone through the same. All you can do is try and keep busy to limit the dark side thoughts that creep in. Some people say how they've done big cupboard cleanouts to keep busy!
Please read What Mammograms Show: Calcifications, Cysts, Fibroadenomas. and Keeping an Eye on Benign Breast Lumps is Safe Alternative to ... from the main Breastcancer.org website where you will read that scans without invasive biopsies can often be the most appropriate treatment.
Also look at Breast Ultrasound May Help Younger Women Avoid Biopsies, also from our main site. You may have denser breast tissue due to your age (not a problem or bad thing) but Ultrasounds can get a view that mammograms can't in those breasts.
We wish you all the best for the future. May your problems be benign.

BIRAD 4. No further specification. so still a lot of room for speculation.
-
Hugs....since you just had biopsy last year, it wouldn't be anything too bad. And mammo caught it early. Keep positive thoughts up

Birad 4 is good! That means they feel there is an 80% chance that it is nothing, they just want to be careful and biopsy it.
