Maybe a dumb flat question?

I am getting a same day reading. That sounded good. Then she said I will have time to ask the radiologist questions. That didn't sound good. If it's OK, why would I have questions? Maybe I should go to Target and get Tim Tams. I'm having lunch tomorrow with 2 good friends at a new restaurant. That will definitely be good.
Andrea, It's a beginning watercolor class. Today we painted things we could see from the window. I thought the outside was pretty dull so I added a plum tree in bloom. I get tired of fir trees. Our grass stays green in the winter and goes brown in the summer, so pretty much everything is green - fir trees, moss on the roof, etc.
I sure wish we would hear from DP. I really miss her posting.

Glennie, I love the caramel ones too! Colin likes shaved Masdaam Cheese. He likes it on his lunch sandwich, if I can't get the one he likes he will eat Jarlsberg and I buy him double cream Brie as a treat sometimes. I don't eat any of it, but he loves it.
Ndgirl, when you are in the public system, you take whichever Doctor and Specialist you get. It is free and you get your public Hospital free too. The main issue with it is, if you need non urgent surgery, the wait list is often very long. With Private Health Cover you get to choose your own specialist, which you get a referral from your General Practitioner and you get to go to a Private Hospital where they operate and it is all done with a minimum of fuss. You can go Private in a Public Hospital if you need to be in a big Hospital and your surgeon operates there. In saying that, you can have an excess on the Hospital cost, but you can adjust insurance payments to avoid that. You will often have some out of pocket with the Specialists because they can charge more than the insurance funds allow, so you have to pick up the difference. When I had my surgery, I was told I didn't have to use my Private insurance because I was using the public Hospital, with the best breast surgeon anyway, no Private Hospitals in the area, but if I did use my private health they would sweeten the deal a bit, with the Hospital waiving the excess, if I had any on my plan and I would get another free appointment with the surgeon. They do this because the Private Health funds actually pay more for the services in hospitals than the free government scheme.
For instance, I used my Private Heath, had all my pre op visits with Anesthetist, Surgeon, Head Nurse of the Ward, Xrays Bloods and an EEG, then the Mx surgery, Hospital stay overnight and one visit with the surgeon in Hospital, all free. Then I had a couple more visits for seroma draining and a infection and follow up appointments, finally the dog ear removal and my other biopsy when I found the lump some months ago and that follow up appointment with my surgeon. I think all of that has cost the princely sum of about $400.00US all up, so the Private cover which costs about $1400US per year is worth it for me, especially since I have the RA and have needed to see a really top hand surgeon, for all my hand surgeries, which I couldn't have done without Private Heath and I have had numerous Hospital admissions for those surgeries and for RA I am very grateful that I can afford the choice to have my Private Health, but if I couldn't, I know I would still be, relatively well covered.
There you go, I bet that's more than you ever wanted to know about our system!.

Bird, who said that? Who said you'd have time to ask the radiologist questions? Was it just a dimwit who knows nothing about your films?
Is your lunch before or after? Hoping it is after so you can celebrate your negative results and spend five minutes or so trashing the dimwit who had a comment that made you nervous.
Did I tell you this one? I had an... ultrasound, I think... and the tech was visibly shaken, and diverting my questions, and then I saw her in the lobby right after, getting herself a whipped cream frozen coffee and a giant Toblerone bar at the coffee shop.. and I thought, Shit. It must not be good news. But it was actually fine. That woman must have been a wreck for some other reason!
In the bag!
-
Wren, get the TimTams,, you won't regret it. Good for same day reading,,, idiot for making you nervous,, no Timtams for her. We give her the pissed off French face. Art class sounds nice and lunch will be awesome.
M: double cream Brie,,, oh my,,, I do love that! And $1400 a year,,,,, and that's in addition to the public health system? OMG,,,if we only had that here. Thanks for the details,, we are all moving now.
Bobo: sounds like she was a wreck for some other reason. Geez,, to make you nervous like that. I hate that! Like the Xray tech before my Hysterectomy,, had to get chest xray, and she's all,, hmmm,, do have you asthma or something?? Yeah, why? Oh, no,, just wondering. WTF did she see??? I passed,, had surgery,,,, so WTF?
-
WTF indeed?
Birdie, the face you need to give in that scenario is actually called the 'resting bitch face.' I know you could be great at it!
-
oh that's it,,, I knew I got the name wrong!!! Excellent job, Bobo! -
Ariom that is a great explanation and no sure not more than I wanted. Yes, wouldn't it be great if this country could adopt something like that? One month premium here is that amount.
Maybe we just are so anxious when we have to have or repeat tests that we read things into other's reactions or words spoken. Thinking the best Wren and have fun at your lunch!
So worried about Sheila! DP!
-
Does anybody have her phone ? Call and talk to bond
-
I think we are all very worried about DP...but then I think, well Bond went to work yesterday, so what is that saying? I only wish he knew how important she was to us .. maybe then he'd try to get a message to the group. That reminds me - wasn't someone going to start an emergency contact list?
Good luck tomorrow Wren. As others have said, don't put too much stock into a tech's words. I've had techs who would tell me everything looks good, and others who said they couldn't say. Every time they wouldn't tell me, I just knew it was bad news...but it never was.
-
Hi all,
Wren you're going to be fine... lets talk about what you're having for lunch.. what kind of restaurant? I'm so hungry since the damn Herceptin
You should get the Tim Tams, because when you find out you were dragged back there for nothing, you're going to be pissed and they will calm you down
I'm not one to expect special treatment.. but FFS, when they know they've dealt with somebody that has had problems in the past, they should damn well look at results right there on the spot... none of this call back crap. In the bag for you.. I'll protect your Tim Tams..
Glad you enjoyed your class!
Another reason to live in M's boathouse... cheaper medical! Keep them coming, she's going to find me on her doorstep for sure.
Glennie, I love caramel.. but wasn't crazy about the caramel Tim Tams as I recall... did you like them?
So thrilled that Z finally had a nice pamper session!!! It's what I've wanted for you for so long... you've deserved that 10 times over
Is Grey's worth watching this season? I wasn't going to really bother this season. Z, I would so go shopping with you... I'm just afraid I couldn't keep up with you
I want to go to like Sephora or Macy's and have them just do make up for me.. but it's not something I want to do alone and I have yet to find somebody that will go with me.... my gf's suck lol.
M, never even heard of Masdaam cheese.. have heard of Jarlsberg, but never had it... you'll have to give me some when I come to live in the boathouse.
Do you think DP will get upset when she see's she has like 20 pages to catch up on? I too was hoping to have heard something from her by now.... {{{{DP}}}}
Well, forgot everything else I read and too lazy to page back. We're having major ice issues.. I have this horrible feeling we're going to have roof/gutter damage when all is said and done.... oh.. and it's snowing again.
-
L: can I be your roomie in the boathouse? Will try to not be a slob. I love caramel,, these are good,, but I do not have other flavors to compare to. Our Target only had caramel today. Looks like they carry other one, but out of stock. Sucks about the ice and the snow,,,, OMG,, you have had enough!!
Have never heard of Maasdam cheese either. Bring on the Brie!!
DP: we are all thinking of you!!
-
I am awfully concerned too, but since Z sent a message that neither answered, was it yesterday, your time? I feel that we just have to wait till one of them responds, we don't want to appear to be imposing at a really delicate time. Am I wrong? I really want to know what's happening too.
I think it was DP, wasn't it, who suggested the emergency list.
-
Z has DP's and bond's cell phone numbers. I am officially concerned now. Sending gentle hugs.
I want to be a roomie at M's boathouse too! With the cost of realestate there it would be less expensive to build an addition! lol
Watched Grey's tonight. Very sad! I too get hungry from Herceptin! Wrecks all my good eating every time! Lol
In the bag tomorrow, Wren. Where is lunch and what are we having?
-
I agree, M,, I am pretty sure it was DP who wanted a contact list. -
Yes, it was DP who was going to do the list that I recall.
I feel the same way as M, yes I want answers.. but where is the line of being an imposition? It's nice enough of Bond to text Z as he has been.
DP has a good point, he went to work.. and didn't DP say something about class or something he is going to a couple night a week or am I thinking of something else.
Of course Glennie, as long as you are ok living with Bobo too
-
I know you doggie loves will love this story....

-
The emergency list is a great idea.. and maybe we can all inform each other of what would or wouldn't be ok with the spouses. For instance.. I can tell you Joe wouldn't pick up the phone unless he recognized a number and that he doesn't text. But... if you left him a message.. he would call you back... he knows what you girls mean to me. So if somebody called and said this is one of the girls from the forum and we are worried, etc... he would be fine in calling back and talking to you.
-
I am with ldesim, Wren, get the TimTams, you'll find they are a good size pack, to slap that silly woman up the side of the head! I like the Aussie saying, "Just ignore the Bitch, she's just flappin' her gums!" we're so uncouth, but doesn't that say it all! LOL
ldesim, I expect special treatment! I expect it and nothing else, for all of us, who have felt that fucking fear and had to wait those interminable days, to weeks for friggin' answers, damn right, I do!
I just realised, I don't do "resting bitch face" very well, I am better at the "fierce angry bitch" face!
I'll be in the bag too Wren, wrestling with ldesim over the Tim Tams.
-
yes, I think DP mentioned that he has a class.Ava is not a good emergency contact,, she never answers the phone!
L: I could live with Bobo. She would make us eat healthy Vitamix soup! Then you and I would sneak off somewhere and have a hamburger!
-
The restaurant is Roots Table (in Seattle). They have unusual food and I haven't decided what I'm ordering. I don't eat red meat so I looked to make sure they had something I could eat. Actually several yummy choices.
I don't think the woman who called to make the appointment meant it to scare me. And I've been called back before and it's been fine, so I'm only a little anxious.
-
Yes, M! Fierce angry bitch face and humpy back spider dance in the power suit! GO M!!!
Sure hope you are OK with all of us moving into the boat house.
-
ooo, Wren,, that place looks good! I could just eat tapas,,, lot of them! -
hahaha.. Glennie!! Yes, we would have to sneak out for a nice cheeseburger
You can have the Tim Tam's M... I'm not stupid enough to mess with you, I might get the humpy back... or worse.. the eye.
Wren, this is what I think I'd get....
Spicy Ginger Chicken 10
Stir-fried chicken with baby bok-choy, carrots, sweet onions, fresh ginger and shitake mushroom. Serve with jasmine rice.Love bok choy, love shitake and love ginger.. win, win, win!
-
Bobo, I think that tech was having a low blood sugar episode and was worried she would pass out before finding candy. I had one once at a recreation center. It was an absolutely desperate feeling and I would have taken candy from a babe in a heartbeat.
I do remember DP saying Bond had a training class he had to attend. Wonder if GPs are coming over a lot.
M, I haven't heard that flapping your gums in years. My great aunt used to say it.
-
My DH doesn't text either. He will never answer my phone and doesn't turn his on. He rarely checks the landline for messages. That being said, he knows you all are my people and has been instructed to notify you all should I have some sort of medical crisis. I am sure he will relegate it to my DD2. She knows all my passwords-he doesn't! She will text and answer her phone-even if she is angry with me like she currently is! (Bad mom that I am, I won't let her and her man friend rent my other house that we need to work on and sell.) she will even answer my phone and post
-
I'm laughing Glennie.. we both go and check the menu.
-
I love you ladies so much! You always make me smile. It feels like we are all in the same room visiting....however, to that end I wish I knew what you all looked like. I am such a visual thinker, and need a face to go with the name.
Yes it Was DP who offered to assemble an emergency list. I hope she is feeling comfy, and safe, and happy....and knows how much we love her. -
L: I knew we were sisters!! Wait until NOLA. We will eat until we pass out.I know, we check the menu for a restaurant that for both of us is ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE FREAKIN' COUNTRY. but yet,, we want to decide what we would eat if we were there. Multiple Tapas,, and maybe the Broccoli lover,,, Why is there no dessert menu??
-
I think the emergency number thing is a great idea. Colin would talk to anyone who called and especially if he heard it was one of you, he'd be fine with that. Colin would also break his "I Text for no one!" rule, if that were the case. How are we going to do this?
-
because Andrea has asked like 3 times, here's a pic of me. With a plate of sushi. Cuz, yes it is all about the food. Full Disclosure:
my hair is no longer red.
