Went to doc for the breast rash and got pawned off to a derm

Hello again, ladies. I noticed a red blotch on the underside of my left breast 10 days ago. I went to my OB (I'm 34, currently breastfeeding my 4 month old) to get it looked at 5 days ago. She thought it looked like a heat rash and prescribed a anti fungal steroid cream that I've been using for 5 days with no results. I just went back for a re-check today and she says that it looks the same and she thinks it's still due to sweat and chaffing. She referred a breast specialist for me to see just for my peace of mind (of course I googled and IBC came up) but doesn't think I need to be concerned.

I called the specialist and talked to the nurse at length but she won't make an appointment for me until I see a dermatologist first. I don't have any other symptoms - just a strawberry-sized red blotch on the underside of my left breast that has not worsened over 10 days - but I can't help but worry and stress about the time wasted if they're wrong and it IS early IBC.

Did anyone else have a rash that stayed the same for weeks before other symptoms of IBC appeared? OR, is the fact that the blotch has stayed the same size and nothing else seems amiss a sign that it probably is dermatitis or something else? I've made my derm appointment for tomorrow night but I'm just trying to calm my nerves until then. I understand that you can't diagnose me but I appreciate you sharing your experiences.

Thank you. The Derm thoufht my rash looked benign, probably a product of my pale skin, large breasts, and "trauma" from constantly grabbing and lifting it out of the nursing bra. She told me that if I had broken blood vessels, the mark might not ever go away. She said that she was comfortable with waiting 6 weeks to see how it (hopefully) clears or I could get a scrape biopsy today for peace of mind. I chose biopsy and will have results in a week
