Hair Won't Grow Back
I am a stage I BC survior of 7 years. My hair has still not grown back and I am so frustated and depressed over it. Prior to chemo my hair was full on the top and thick all over. Now it is very thin, grows very little on the top, but fast in the back. I also have a bald spot in the top of my head where there is fuzz but that's about it. So tired of wearing wigs, getting hair weaves, using hair chalk and scalp cover-ups. I am so grateful for my recovery but I want my hair back!!
I have tried rograine, even cortisol shots to the scalp and nothing is working. I am considering hair transplant, etc., any option that will work. Has anyone had a similar experience and sucessfully overcome it?

There are many girls that have had this happen especially if they have had taxotere chemo. There is a website many of them go to where they can find support and share information...I can't remember the name of it though. Maybe someone else can help with that...?? -
Hello stillreno, sorry that you are having your hair problem, but congrats on all 7 years! That is fantastic. I hope I can do as well. I had to get a wig, and I couldn't deal with the hot scratchy ones. I had a real hair wig custom made, and it is beautiful. Nobody knows unless I tell them. I know you said that you didn't want to go that route, but the salon I go to also works with thinning and patchy hair as well. I am not sure if they could do something, but if you would like the info I would be happy to pass it along. I love my hair, and the cost works out for the year what I would spend on my real hair anyway. Good Luck!

Hi Stillreno, sorry for your hair problems but glad to hear no other problems in 7 years. To go from thick full hair to what you now have must be frustrating. We hope, with help and suggestions from members here, you can find something that helps.
All the best

I have the same problem, and yes, I did I taxotere.
While I have some hair, it's not as thick as it was. Can see scalp through it. Derma said Rogaine would work, but would have to use it forever. Bought it, read the info sheet, took it back. Spookie will lick the sweat off my pillow, was afraid it would hurt her. And she doesn't need any more hair!
Wigs are not an option, too hot and humid here most of the year.
Annoys the heck out of me, but at least I'm alive to complain about it
