EMG on LE arm?

I've had them, I hate them. They hurt. Ortho says fractures have healed, but the numbness and tingling fingers may mean carpal tunnel issues.

I can just see them sticking my arm, and leaking lymph all over the place. Not a pretty picture, is it? Not to mention the fear of cellulitis with so many holes.

Ugh. What to do

Spookiesmom, what you have to ask yourself is, "Why do I need this test?" In other words, if you have a dx of carpal tunnel syndrome, what will be done? If the dx is that you don't, what happens then? Also, what happens if you don't have the test?

Just because a test can be done doesn't mean it must be done.

    Best of luck.

I hate that damn test. It really hurts.  If you have carpal tunnel, would you have surgery?  Can you splint the wrist for a while and see if there is an improvement?

No, no surgery, yet. It's on my non dominate arm, isn't keeping me awake as carpal tunnel can. I had an adjustable carpal tunnel type splint to wear for the breaks. Felt great for that. Wore it as loosely as I could, pushed lymph into my fingers, where it NEVER was before. I quit wearing it, went back to my sleeve and glove.

I think I'm more afraid of infection than anything else. This ortho does sports med for Toronto Blue Jays, they wouldn't let their zillion $$$$ baby's go to a quack. But does he understand LE?

    Find out in 2 weeks.

well, that seriously sucks that the splint did that.

Spooks,,, what happened with the EMG?  I am now facing this issue!  I asked LE therapist and she said OK to do needles on affected arm,,, but to just watch for cellulitis.  She did not think it would flare up the LE.  hmmmmm,,,,

I am going to start a new thread and ask everyone for opinions on that!
