Hello Robbie! So sorry you have to be here, but very glad you found us. This is a great place to come for support and advice, you can ask anything, vent if you want to and everyone understands.

There are some other women here, who have had the same Dx as you and I am sure they will come to share their experiences with you.

Take some deep breaths and try to take it one day at a time. Come here often and let us know how you're getting on.

    Hugs to you!

    Hang in there Robbie!

Sorry you have to go through this. You will start chemo first and you Doc will work out the rest of your treatment plan. IBC pt always get chemo first and it's probably AC. It's a tough drug but it's reacts differently in everyone, so you might do just find on it. Goodluck with everything

    Hello Robby,

Good you found us! I started chemo end of 2014. You can imagine nicer things, but is certainly doable. Got just back from my 3rd chemo, still 5 to go.

If You have any questions, please ask

    Robbie,

Sorry about your diagnosis. Please come back to ask questions. We've been through this. There is a standard for treatment of ibc, chemo always first. I found I did not have to worry about if I made the right decisions. I hope you do well with treatments and your medical team will get you stable quickly.

    Terri

As others have said, with IBC neoadjuvant (before surgery) chemo is the standard. This is to shrink it, get it form a lump with margins so the surgeon can get it. Most will do 2 different regimes neoadjuvant but not all do. Some will do neoadjuvant and adjuvant. Then on to rads.

No one can tell you how you will react to any of the TXs - we are each unique with our own experiences. Our Drs are each different with their choices of how best to treat us individually. I am one of those who did neoadjuvant and adjuvant and still NED (No Evidence of Disease) after 5 yrs. I did A/C and Taxol - for me A/C was easy but Taxol was not but it's different for others.

Get a note pad and write down all the questions you come up with to remember to ask the Drs. If you don't understand what they are saying, tell them to explain in other words til you do.

Ask particular questions here so we can give you our experiences relating to your concerns. There is no 'One Size Fits All' when it comes to this Monster.
