I have decided before I make a HUGE decision that will impact my life, I need second opinions. Can anyone give me names?

Thanks! I saw that woman listed in a list of best BSs. Dr. Fenner is the PS I met with already. My concern is he is underplaying the risks and overplaying the benefits of surgeries. He told me the risk of reabsorption of the tissue in a flap is 2%. That seems low to me. He also said he could likely save my nipple and my BS disagreed. I will check into that BS though.

Made an appointment with Dr. Hanson. Now I just need to get all my records to her.

I just found out that Dr. Fenner no longer works with Dr. Hanson.

I also spent 1 hour at the hospital this am going from various departments to get my records sent for the second opinion. I can't believe they don't have some better procedure in place for doing this. Doesn't exactly make me confident in being a patient in that huge bureaucracy.

    Dear Trvler,

Dr Fenner did a wonderful job fixing a reconstruction disaster for me, which started with care elsewhere. I would recommend asking Dr Fenner for a surgeon he works with, perhaps Dr Winchester. Do connect with me if you want to chat offline.

    all the best, stay strong

I just had a bilateral mastectomy at University of Chicago last week, and had Dr. Jaskowiak. Been a very good experience She works closely with Dr. Song. I didn't opt for reconstruction, but I would have "hired" him if I did.
