Norco side effect?
I have been put on Norco for pain control after my February 2nd mastectomy. I have been having a lot of nausea and itchy rash, so I took last dosage of Norco last night and today I decided to just use Tylenol.
My pain seems OK, but I experienced a little blurry vision. I looked in the mirror and noticed that one of my pupils is wider than the other. I got very scared, anxious, hyperventilating. My husband called the surgeon and since I don't have any other symptoms of stroke, they think it is a side effect of Norco. At the same time, if things get worse, I'm supposed to go to the ER.
Did anybody else had something like that happen as a side effect of a drug? How long did it last?

I had my exchange on 2/4. I am on norco. I also took it for BMX in October. Last night I remembered why I stopped taking it for BMX - I get super itchy and slightly blurry vision. I switched over to 600 ibuprofen then and this morning.
For BMX i alternated Tylenol with ibuprofen.
I would trust the docs. But still keep an eye on things.

I had the same exact SE. Itchy all over and vision. But my surgeon told me a head of time that I should expect that so I wasn't worried. Even when I texted with my family overseas I wasn't able to see the letters on the screen. Don't worry. The vision issue stopped when I stoped with the norco but the rash was still itchy for few days but stoped three days after. Don't worry! My surgeon specifically mentioned wider pupils as the cause for the vision issue and as SE.

Thank you, Ladies,
I stopped taking Norco completely. Yesterday my eyes seemed to be back to normal. Itchiness is still here, but getting better.
Now I'm surviving just on Tylenol. Not completely effective, so I added a little Advil. Tomorrow I'm seeing my PS; I'm hoping he can prescribe me some muscle relaxant, so the pulling on the TE won't be as bothersome. And fingers crossed, I'm hoping for the drain to be out.

Itchiness is really common with Norco/Lortab/Vicodin. Rash and nausea are not uncommon either. Some people find that if they take the med with food, it lesses the nausea, but I'm sure it depends on just how nauseous it makes you. If you can take Benadryl (not with tamoxifen) or Claritin or Allegra or other anti-histamine, that could help with the itchiness and rash. The eye problem is not as common, but miosis (constriction of the pupil) increased sensitivity to light and decreased intraocular tension are listed side effects.
Changing to Tylenol and adding some Advil/Motrin or some Aleve is good idea. Hoping that is helping your pain!
