I'm mortified
Since I don't have my prescribed prosthesis, I have been using a silicone form that I ordered on-line and just stuffing into one of my premastechtomy bras. It has worked fine until today. I went to the supermarket and when I got home, my silicone boob was gone. It evidently slipped out while I was shopping and because I had on an oversized tee shirt - it must have fallen to the ground. I can't believe that I didn't feel it and can't imagine what will go through the mind of the person who finds it - a D cup with a nipple.
I don't think I can ever go back to that store.

ROFLMBO!
-
Lets hope that store doesn't have a survellance camera! We may see you on "Caught on Tape"!
ROFLMBO TOO!! That sounds like something that would happen to me! -
Imagine the look on the face of the Person at the lost and Found Dept at the store when someone comes up to her with a boob in their hand and says "I'd like to turn this in please"
Remember: A boob in the hand is worth two in the bush -
OMG!! Could you call the store and then send someone else in to claim it for you? They could put it in a bag and give it to "whoever" What a story!!
-
Hey, that's the best one I've heard in a long time!
Can't wait to hear who is brave enough to go pick it up for you! -
Aw, in a couple of years YOU'LL be laughing! Thanks for the laugh, but I'm sorry you lost your boob AGAIN!
Shirley -
You may be mortified, but I am amused
I dare you to go back to the store and ask them if they found it -
I love this...I hope it wasn't expensive!
Personally, I would go back to the store and with a straight face ask the lost and found if anyone had turned in a *naughty bit*. That's just me though LOL.
Hugs

The nursing staff where I got my chemo shared this story with me. A patient of their's lost her's at the airport. She felt it go, so she just stooped down, picked it up and put it back. She told them, she hardly missed a step. She said she didn't know what else to do, so she just acted like it was nothing out of the ordinary and kept on going.

may i laugh "with you".......i have bilateral expanders and no nipples or tactile sensation whatsoever.
in july amidst the 110 degree heat, i went to sobey's (like publix to you) in an adorable little halter dress......now remember no nipple/no feeling=no "place holder"........needless to say i have no idea how long my nippleless, rockhard, scarred up boobie was "out there", but it wasn't till i ran into a friend in the 2nd last aisle that i was alerted to the "visual" i had created......thank god i live in the sticks lololol! -
I do hope your lost boob finds it way home. Could you call the store (*67 1st) anonymously and ask if someone turned it in? If it is still at the store, I hope you can convince someone to get it for you.
I can only imagine how mortified you feel, but I also roflmbo!
hugs,

I can't bring myself to retrieve it. Since they come in sets - I still have one left. I have also ordered some bras with pockets for the boob so it won't happen again.
I can now laugh about it - but it wasn't funny when it happened. I felt like a real BOOB. And I will still change markets for a few weeks. -
I lost mine once, because I couldn't remember where I left it. My own, chemo brain fault. Ends up, I never took it out of my overnight bag after a weekend away. I really only wore it with t-shirts and swim-suit and have since had a reduc on good side, so I am even and no longer need it.
Good luck to you and thanks for the laugh. -
I had my port put in today and told the technicians my story about the missing boob. After they stopped laughing, one volunteered to go to the store to see if any one turned it into lost and found.

HI Mia, you gave me my first chuckle of the day..not trying to top you but your not alone!! Many yrs ago (in the early 70's) I was preg with our first child..although working regularly both hubby and myself times were still tough, starting our lives building our family etc...you all remember what it was like!! Splurging on a 'special' dinner was macaroni with added hamburge..lol anyway I was walking down the main downtown crowded street one day, during my lunch break from the office, and low and behold, my panties (who the heck could ever afford maternity underwear back then) fell right to my ankles and I had a dress on...I just stepped out of them left them right there and kept right on walking...aww unforgotten moments...the worst part of it all was I had to go back to the office without them for the rest of the day!!!!

First the missing fallopian tube and now the missing boob. We are quite a group, huh. Oh and let's not forget the panties in the middle of the sidewalk, and Rocky in the middle of Sobey's. The only thing I ever lose is my brain, but it eventually shows up again. You all are too funny!

I'm sorry it happened to you...and also for you other ladies that had 'embarrassing moments'..but is sure gives us some laughs! Think of the things you will be able to tell your grandchildren! Thanks for sharing! BTW..I would let the tech go check for you!! It would be fun to know 'if' someone indeed turned in the missing boob! lol

Did they ever find your missing boob? Just curious as to how this story ended.

We took a cruise on "The United States" when my family moved to England. There was a woman in a cabin across from my parents that had lots of little kids. One day my parents were opening their cabin just as a little kid opened the door. The mother was standing there absolutely naked. Dad said, "How's everything going?" Dad said the mom didn't come out of the cabin for several days after that.

I can relate to being mortified, and Im sure my story falls in this category.
Many moons ago in 8th grade, we prepared for gym and headed outside for laps.
Just before going outside, I noticed that I had gotten my 1st monthly.
Not knowing what to do (I was 13, and was never taught about this... or expected this to happen)...
I stuffed tissue in my underwear and shuffeled outside to participate.
Luckily, I was chosen to race my rival, Big Bully Michelle who loved chasing me home and tripping me on occasion.
It was like a movie in slow motion... "Ready...Set...Go !"
As soon as we reached the end of the fence, I could hear Michelle yelling, "Thats not mine!!!"
I looked down, and there it was... my makeshift pad.
Not only was I scared they would find out it was mine... I was scared to deny it, because I was sure that if I denied it, Michelle would think I was blaming her... and then let the beatings commence....
I stated quietly to a few girls that it wasnt mine, and left the play area with my head down....
Ive never told this story to anyone but my sister, but hey, if you can loose a boob, i can loose a pad.

I remember a trip to alarge grocery store . I had just left the gym after showering. I guess I must have had more than on e pair of panties with me.(I didn't remember what color I had put on ). As I was walking into the entrance this pair of mauve panties was on the ground around me. This meat clerk, also walking in, looks at me and says there's someone's underwear! Since they were a new pair I'd had and still didn't recognize, I was surprised like her at how they appeared there. So of course she yells for the manager that someones underwear was at the entrance. I continued to walk on wondering how someone could do that. Then I realized that they had probably been stuck in my pantleg and slipped out. I was mortified. I didn't have the nerve to go back and claim them. When I see that clerk, I still pretend I knew nothing about them.

Oh you guys are so funny. Gave me my morning laugh! Tam

Years ago when I was in grade school a friend came over who had padded her bra. Somehow the padding slipped out. My sister had found it and was using it in her doll's bed as a pillow.
Catherine -
Too funny. It was a story like this that sealed my fate to have reconstruction. A friend who skates and said she fell one day and her prosthesis flew out and across the rink. No thanks!
