edited February 2015 in Waiting for Test Results

Hello,

I'm going a little stir crazy after having my core biopsy yesterday afternoon.

A nodule was see during a CT scan I had done. I was sent for a mammogram & Ultrasound 3 weeks ago. They saw a "Hypoechoic mass with microlobulated margins" could be fibroademoma but they are concerned with the microlobulated margins"

Anyone have experience with this description?

I'm 34 with no history of breast lumps.

We are sorry about the stress you are experiencing (it is normal) as waiting is a horrid time.

Sorry, but you'll just need ti wait for biopsy results, it is only from those results that your doctor will know what your situation is.

We can but give you our best wishes and send ((HUGS)).

    Worried catlady,

I'm in your boat, except mine (2) have irregular margins. My core biopsies were yesterday 1/28/15. Now if the pathologists will get their ducks in a row...I've been told everything from Friday morning to Monday afternoon to expect a call. Sorry, but don't string me along with this kind of news. I have kids to teach! :)

Hoping for the best news for you!

Hi Jane. All of us have been in your situation. It's very hard to focus on other things when waiting for test results. I hope you have been able to read many of the posts here and have some direction for when you meet with your doctor. The toughest part about waiting for test results is night time. I hope you get benign results on Tuesday, Please let us know how it goes.

Good morning, everyone. This is my first post. I am 37 and have two biopsies today. Radiology seems to think #2 is funky. I am nervous. I am NOT scared of cancer. I hate the unknown and all this waiting is killing me. I first called on Dec 15. This process is mind numbingly slow. While I have no personal history of breast cancer, I have a significant family history of cancer.

Great grandmother, Grandmother (DCIS), several great aunts, Mother (age 50 LCIS), Auntie (age 38 IBC),Baby sister (age 32 IDC). All maternal relatives. We joke that we can paint that half of our family tree pink.

Jane995 I understand the sleep issues. I've been up since 3. I'm crossing my fingers for B9 results for you.

No one wants to be part of this club. I've just decided that if it is my turn, then on go the big girl panties and some serious boots because Im going to have to kick a little butt. I hope everyone has a terrific day!

    Love and light, always!

Jane995 - I totally know what you are feeling right now. "Not knowing" is consuming me. I find it quite difficult to function. I feel everyone around me has forgotten that I even had a biopsy :( The ladies on here have all been where we are now, their words comfort me whenever I feel like I just can't take it anymore. Even I'm not posting, just reading, has helped me. You don't have to wait alone.

Loveandlight1977 - I'll be thinking of you today. The biopsy process is quite quick and for me pretty painless. Then you start the waiting game, which for me, seems to be the hardest part. Like I said to Jane995, you are not alone in this!

Thinking B9 thoughts for you both! (And myself!)

    xoxo

    worriedcatlady,

Thanks so much for your sweet words and positive thoughts. I've decided that if it is cancer, I am going to do my very best to not let it steal my joy! Just gonna pick myself up, dust off and move forward. Maybe I will have to beat up breast cancer this year, maybe not. I am okay with either result.

I am wishing you smooth sailing and B9 results.

    Love and light!!! XO

I don't know where worriedcatlady ended up...I got my results on Friday 1/30/15. As I expected, they were not benign. IDC and DCIS, grade 2 > 1 cm, and IDC and DCIS, comedonecrosis, 1.5 cm. ER+ and PR +, still waiting on HER2 neu results.

Cancer has no hold on me. I have a MRI tomorrow to clear my whole chest area for surgery, pre-ops on Wednesday, and I will meet the surgeon on the 13th. She is at a big conference presenting this week. I will do genetic counseling in the next week or so. The hospital/cancer center has a plastic surgeon on staff that does the reconstruction I want, and he's in my insurance plan.

I will not give in. I will kick cancer's ass to the curb!

Had my yearly mammogram on Tuesday February 2nd. They called me the same day to tell me the doc wanted to see me urgently the next morning, when I got to my appointment he let me know that I have a 1.7 cm nodule that seemed to have spiculated margins but they could not see the density because of my breast mass. I have a follow up mammogram on the 11th, but in the meantime I can't sleep and can't think.

I went for my core biopsy last Tuesday, the 3rd and I have to wait until Feb 17. Being in Japan and with the translation challenge we speak in one word sentences. he said "Tumor" and pointed to my ultrasound (which was on January 28). I said "Tumor?!" he said "Lobulated" i gave him a blank stare. And then he tried to explain that the shape of the tumor doesn't concern him, but we have to be sure so we are doing a core needle biopsy. I still don't know that I understood him correctly. And now one more week to go. Trying to stay busy and go about my daily life - but it is hard...

Googoogirl - I totally get it. Actually, my follow-up appointment to get results is on the 17th also. I am still hoping they may let me know before hand, but nothing yet. Surprisingly, the longer I wait the easier it gets. I would still love to get a call today but I'm not banking on it. Stay busy, and keep me posted on your results!

Wow. I had two biopsies, both on a Friday, and I was called with results the following Monday. I thought waiting a couple of days was horrible.

I had bilateral excisional biopsies on Friday, 2/6. Wire localization on both then general anesthesia and a 3.5 hour surgery. I took the bandages off Saturday night and right breast had a huge dent in the top. This all started on 1/13 with a Dr visit, 1/15 mamo and sono, 1/22 core needle biopsy and 2/6 excisional biopsy. The surgeon said I should have results by Friday 2/13. Its been almost a month of constant Dr visits, concerned comments, invasive procedures, my arms are bruised by IVs, I have a 2 inches of stitches down my left breast, stitches across my right nipple, bruised breasts and ribs, pain. I go in and out of panic attacks and am taking xanax. And most look me in the face and say "don't worry". This is a nightmare. I'm glad I found this forum of brave women who understand.

    Wonderful news worriedcatlady!

I also received good news today. After they found ALH in my core biopsy I had to have an excisional biopsy to check to see if there was more cancer nearby that the core biopsy missed. They found more ALH but no evidence of cancer. So I am a high risk patient that needs to be closely monitored but I am okay with that! I am grateful that they found what they did so now I know.
