Logged 3.5 miles today, between walking around furniture stores this morning and walking the neighborhood this afternoon. Got a great deal on a new sofa and crossed the 5,000-mile mark! Stocked up on groceries and hit the library as we may get a foot of snow from the storm just coming in now. Shovel & Sculpt in my future...
-
1/31- short work out today at the gym. Total of 45 minutes that included 30 minutes of resistance training, and 15 min with the kettle bells.
-
I got a friend to walk with me today and got 30-40 minutes of walking in. I didn't really pay attention, but it was nice to be outdoors and walking with a friend.
-
TH I liked your 'map my walk' I have friends who do that on FB and thanks for the invite but like I say I only do windows when I have houseguests Badger congrats on reaching your milestone and on your new couch.
Did Body Combat this morning then 1/2 an hour in the weight room, now heading out to play cards with my neighbor, Wonderland I'll ask her if she'd like a trip to NC
-
45 mins Shovel & Sculpt to get the heavy layer of overnight snow off the driveway & walk before the temps drop and it turns into concrete. It's still snowing but it's a lighter flake, blowing & drifting in a strong wind. Miserable day to drive but DH went to work. I gave him my cell phone and put him in the hands of G-d. Going to finish my coffee and hit the yoga mat. ♥
-
DD has another audition this afternoon, so I'm hoping DH and I get in some kind of walk together while we wait for her. It's been beautiful in So Cal this week, and today is another sunny day. Pretty weather to be outside.
-
ran my first race of the season - the Country Road 5 Miler this morning. It was a nippy 26 degrees at race time , but the course was beautiful. We wound along a wooded country road with occasional horse farms. I think the horses enjoyed watching all the silly humans run by. The woods and fields were snow covered but the road was fine.
More cleaning out of the house preparing for our move next month. DH cleaned out his closet and took 6 bags of old clothes to be recycled yesterday. I haven't even started on my closet yet!
-
Blizzard here today but I was able to get out for a twenty minute walk. Its tough going because its still snowing heavily and blowing so my legs and heart probably got a better workout than a normal walk. I think this will save me some calories too as I don't think we'll make it to the superbowl party. We'll be eating chicken breast instead!
-
Gorgeous day here, Mary your run sounds lovely, it's the Huntington Beach marathon today so I'm staying away from the beach (the dog got his walk at dog beach yesterday). For those of you encountering snow, stay safe.
This morning did Body Step, then of course negated all the work by going out to breakfast after class.
-
Not a gorgeous day here, but went for a 20 mile ride in the rain and drizzle anyway. Not a warm rain either, as I found out when I tried to push with my right foot, and found it a bit numb! Had a bit of frostbite on my fingers as well.
Bath afterwards was wonderful, and have my wet, sandy clothes washing now.
I enjoyed yesterday's ride in the sunshine a lot more for some reason. But glad to get out and get in some exercise today.
Mary....on cleaning out. I found that when I moved a year ago, that I really appreciated the used clothing bin right there in my building. I also learned that I didn't miss any of the items I parted with. (I was right though to keep my suit with the corset jacket. What I will be wearing to the Toga Party as really a Valentine's Day warm-up, and realized that I could wear the suit and fit right in with an art exhibit of pinups and a wine release. I have a black floral silk camisole/bustier to go underneath. Look quite foxy in it all and just fits. Delighted not to have to spend money on something I might wear once.)
I have to get cracking and get some work out. For those attending Super Bowl parties....have a blast!!! I will know soon enough whether euphoria here where everyone has 12 flags, or whether time to cry in your beer. - Claire

We're watching old episodes of House on Netflix today - not football fans at all.
Walked about a mile and a third earlier. -
Joined LA Fitness last week and attended Pilates class today. My goodness I got out of shape during chemo! Also spent the afternoon walking around the outlet shops with DD. Now exhausted!
-
Walked an hour in the rain yesterday. Thankfully the sun came back out so got some great walking in shorts and a tee shirt in today. Also did about an hour of toning between the last two days.
-
40 minutes of yin yoga and an hour walking.
-
20 mins yoga yesterday après-shovel & sculpt. Would've done more but DH called and said they were closing (TG) and he was coming home. So I shoveled for another hour to clear the snow drifts from the walkway and driveway from when the plow came through.
I am reminding myself to be grateful for the snowplow. They came through again sometime during the night and put a wall of hard packed snow at the bottom of the driveway. Took me an hour to get that cleared away. My back is OK, just a bit stiff, but shoulders and arms are feeling it. I decided to take a personal day off work. Had a second cup of coffee and a nice hot shower. Once DH gets up and gets gone (noon-ish) I will push the living room furniture out of the way and do some serious yoga relax & stretch.
It's a nice bright sunny day so I think the groundhog will see his shadow, meaning six more weeks of winter. (With all due respect to Punxsutawney Phil, we have Jimmy the Groundhog in Sun Prairie WI.) Five years ago today I was having BMX. ♥
-
Some Yin yoga this morning and TRX for the late afternoon. Days are getting longer. That is the only positive for winter right now!
-
Happy cancerversary Badger and great job shoveling! Gosh I don't miss that stuff.
-
2/2- went to a 90 min yoga class at the gym today with one of my fav yoga teachers that I have not seen since last summer. She makes yoga fun like no other!
I had a break through today too! We did a lot of abs work as well as some back bends. I was able to do plow pose which I have not been able to do in YEARS. I really got my strength back in my core with all that personal training I did. It was a great class today.
-
today was shoveling snow and trudging through it for 40 minutes- beautiful!
-
-
Mary, love that!!!!
Shovelled 4 inch deep ice water (literally, it was not snow) off my driveway this morning before going to work. Treadmill tonight for 30 mins. Hope both those will cover the junk I put in my mouth today!
Night sculpted friends.
-
No exercise except a little shovel and sculpt before my husband threatened he would not rub my back if I hurt it again. That stopped me!
I'm all in favor of eating that dang P-phil and the one in Sun Prairie too! I can't remember a single year they said early spring! Worthless rodents.
-
I overhead a farmer saying it's going to be an early spring. I think I will go with the farmer rather than P-Phil! Love the wolf!
Early kettlebel class.
-
Walked yesterday, will walk today, tomorrow we head home.

-
(practicing sending pictures on my phone )
-
Rowed 30 minutes on the machine on Saturday and Sunday. Took yesterday off, and then I slipped on the ice last night when I took the dog out. SORE today! Will try to do some yoga when I get home from work to loosen up.
-
did 10 minutes in the sit down stepper and 7 on the recumbent bike. I was having hip pain so no leg press for m
-
Ruth, your pictures are beautiful! We travelled to Arizona, a few times last month! Too bad we were not there at the same time!😄 looks like you a ball!!
Have not made it to the gym the last few days, but have been walking!!
-
Ruth, great picture. You are getting so technologically astute! I'm getting worse as my patience is so short.
Trying to hear the voices to hop on treadmill. Oh, Shark Tank coming on so maybe will walk and watch.
Later and night my sculpted friends.
-
Ruth-wow, is that half dome in Yosemite? Or maybe something in AZ I don't know about?
