How do you know implants are encapsulated?
I am three years out from BMX. Whenever I use my pecs a lot they tighten up for a day or so. Lately I've noticed that the upper pole is a little distorted, the mx scar is indented. In all honesty I am looking for a reason to have these things removed. For those of you that have had implants replaced how did you know they were encapsulated? Thanks so much!

Sorry to hear you're having difficulty with your implants....I had a capsular contraction on my left side about a year after my BMX, that was the side where I had the axillary node dissection. I did not do TE's, i went direct to implants. My plastic surgeon replaced the implant and I haven't had any more problems with that but My MX scar is indented too. I don't want to go thru fat grafting to even it out and I don't know any other way to fix it...good luck with getting things sorted out, I hope it goes well for you.

Hi! I am 2.5 years out and am suspicious that I may have developed CC on the right side. The implant sits higher and seems tight. I also can feel the implant when I bend down. I have always struggled with extreme tightness on both sides but this seems new. I started Singulair one week ago and Vit E in the hopes that it will help with tightness. I am also anticipating removal of the implants as I can not see myself living with such discomfort for the rest of my life. Best of luck

Thanks Shabby - let us know how things go.

Hi Ladies! I'm only 3 months out from exchange surgery and can't believe my PS thinks that I have a CC already. She wants to remove and replace but I can't even go there right now. So she put me on 400 IU of vit E 3x/day which is 4000% times the daily recommended amount in the hopes that it will break up some of the internal scar tissue. I did call my MO and made sure that the vit E would not interfere with my tamoxifen. Shabby, what dose of vit E are you on? And can you tell me about the Singulair dose as well? Thanks! Franny
