INSOMNIACS place to talk in the wee hours

SAS, Sugar & exercise post was meant to be sarcastic.
Patti, As they say, seize the day.
The great medical powers have decided perhaps my back problem of 2.5 years might be lymphedema. Can anyone come up with a reason for my back to swell just below my shoulder blade only on the mx side?
-
Wren -
http://www.lymphnotes.com/article.php/id/461/
I know we're told to stay off Dr. Google but I think you're smart enough to weed out the totally awful sites. Try google lymphedema of the back - no quotes. Saw one site that said LE and back pain. Our bodies are all different and I don't see why it couldn't be. Maybe your lymph system in God's wisdom is built a little diff. from mine. Not wrong, just different. Is there any harm in trying it to see if therapy for it works?
I looked for images of the lymph system from the posterior view. Not any good ones I could find.

I will take my icky attitude and go be quiet for a while.. reflection time needed. See you in a week. :-)
Patty yay! relief! Blondie get better please. To everyone else hugs and I hope it's sunny. It's supposed to rain for a week here. Ba Humbug...
F@$%ing winters suck.
-
Icky attitudes are allowed. I know I'd be down somewhere kicking something with all my strength and yelling bad stuff. And yes like Chevy falling in the alley that would probably be me. Love you bunches. Wish I could wrap you in a warm hug.
-
Goats, have you asked on the LE threads? Binney knows a LOTabout it, I think she's a nurse too
-
That sugar thing. Please, someone come up with a snappy comeback.
-
Spookie that was for Wren but I'm sure she'll read it. Bet she's been over there already
-
Sassy my reply would be none too pretty - as I'm sitting here eating a graham cracker.
-
Oh eeks! Aren't Graham Crackers good for you? I would put Peanut Butter of that whipped chocolate stuff on it....
Rosie.... what do you MEAN? You are taking a week off? and you say it is because of your attitude? We don't notice any attitude problem.... None that we can't fix..... So never mind you going off somewhere for a WEEK! We'll just stalk you.... you know that.... If YOU go, who can I tease? Cammers is always off doing something WITH someone! So she ain't around....
Spookers only comes out when the weather is about 75.... and then takes a Proof Picture for us.... while we are FREEZING!
While you're at it Lil-goats.... ask about my left leg, always swelling... in my ankle.... Of course I broke my hip on that same side... but I only had 3 nodes removed, when I had BC surgery in December 2009..... I think I'm too old to have Lymphedema now.... If all those needles and dranis, etc in my leg didn't hurt anything, my "edema" in my ankle is my own fault....
-
Rosie, what icky attitude? I must have an icky tude too, cuz I agree with everything you said. But if you feel you need a break, that's healthy. Enjoy. The Nonvaxxers, regretfully, may see how horrible all those diseases can be. Awful.
Google has saved my life innumerable times, by supplying information that my docs either didn't know or didn't wish to share.
Wren sorry, sounds like I said something not right. Wren I went back and looked. I think we cross posted, you were talking about the sugar exercise thing and I was talking about how to prevent PTSD/depression after a traumatic event like the one that Dutchy experienced
Part of preventing PTSD after a traumatic event is to do CID and strenuous exercise in the first 24 hours. Our posts just happened to be next to each other.Wren I agree with Spookie, Binney and Karra are the go to folks about lymphedema. They're like whippetmom is to sizing.
Goats is that your cat & dog--------so sweet.
Patty YAYAYAYAYwhoopwhoop. keep us up to date

-
Naw Sassy just a lovely google image. Though I did luck upon a chihuahua rescue site that has some bigger dogs - Chiweenies and others. DH would kill me but I surely did bookmark it. One of their vans was parked at my grocery last week. Guess someone lives out this way. My rattie is 8 and been threatening to get another b4 she gets much older. I think the pic I posted is a boxer and I do love them but no room and not walking a dog. Would love a chihuahua but afraid I would trip on it or step on it. Rattie is 19# so harder to step on
-
Had a peanut butter flavored shake with KFC tonight!
-
Goats, can't imagine life without pets. My Schatzi is going to be with me when our time comes. DH is cremated and in the bedroom. It'll be the same for me and Shats. DS is instructed to keep us until he decides where he will be in his time. I could see this going on for decades as he will likely want to be where his kids are. Maybe centuries?
-
When Spookie came home at 8 weeks old, and 2 pounds! We learned to do the puppy shuffle real fast. She also learned if she avoided feet, her tail didn't get squished
-
Mommy glad you are doing okay
another thing out of the way YAYSpookie, I learned the very hard way when Dini came. After several falls __I never enter a dark room. I turn on the light getting out of bed to check where they are. Only one fall in 2014. A bunch in 2013.
OH yeah very very careful walking in grass. Careful smoking or eating it too LOL
-
Eyeore has night lights all over. And she is white. But I'm talking about doing the shuffle in day time when puppy just HAS to be with you.
I know Dini is black, and he's a BIG boy. Slow down and shuffle
-
Mommy- that sounds yummy. Comfort food!
Rose- I agree with the others, you don't sound icky but if you need a break from the threads, I get that too. I continue to hope things get better for you every day.
-
Okay, so wait! Rosie, I got confused, and was going back trying to figure out what I missed, and I just have to comment on what you wrote on the last page.
That is RIGHT, about our Docs, and especially our Oncologists... If they would just LISTEN! When we tell them some symptom, or something that happened when we STARTED a med that they prescribed, like with me for example.... and then when something happens, and I would TALK to her, and explain what happened, she wasn't interested at all!
After 2 more months, and then losing hearing in my OTHER ear, she still was not convinced... "never heard of such a thing."
It was then I started typing all sorts of things into Dr. Google... "sudden hearing loss.... Ototoxic drugs..... sudden deafness.... etc.
And it was all this research I found, that ANYone could find, if they tried hard enough... I sent her, the drug company, the FDA, MY Primary Care Docs, ALL of this information.
Never heard a word... It was here on THIS web-site, that I found OTHER gals who had this same thing happen to them. BC.ORG is where all of us go, to talk things over...
So, to make a long story even longer.... After 1 1/2 years on Tamoxifen, I stopped it, AND I quit going to any Oncologist. I was afraid to stop taking it, because I was SURE I would get cancer again... But I was MORE afraid to keep taking it.... I mean at my age, I don't have that much more to LOSE!
The warning labels on Tamoxifen DO say it could cause stroke... But who cares what warning labels say? "Couldn't happen to me"... we think..... But it did... Because I have a "certain gene" that will sometimes cause "certain" patients to have a "small infarct near the 8th cranial nerve, the auditory nerve, causing deafness."
And you don't even have to be "old!" Hah! The warning label also lists cataracts, as a possible SE... And a friend DID have to have that taken care of... but it doesn't happen to everyone who takes it...
And it DOES help some women...probably.... but there are those who HAVE taken Tamoxifen, who get BC again...
So all this medical talk doesn't have anything to do with what time it is, but I just wanted to throw this out there...
Cammi! Never mind what all I just said... it makes my brain hurt to talk like I know what I'm saying....

You guys, I am just BAFFLED about Bruce Jenner! I have been reading about all that stuff, but just thought it was all stupid rumors! And now it's on the NEWS! Is this an Elephant in the Room?

-
I'm so far behind. The incident isn't replaying in my mind over and over like it did. I do wish I had all the answers. There were many, many witnesses. I don't have to have all the answers.
Rose...Icky attitude? I didn't think so. Take a break if you need one but please don't think we need a break from you.
Chevy...You never fail to make me smile.
Sas...Thanks for the info. You're so good to people.
Luv...Tomorrow we going out to celebrate my birthday which is actually on Monday. My family (sibling and parents) celebrates milestone birthdays. I celebrate with my kids every year. I'll be 50.
-
-
Chevy- I like that. Going to add it to my rules bucket.
And about Bruce Jenner, there has been talk about this for awhile. Perhaps being part of that Kartrashian family and all those girls made him realize it is who he really wants to be. I hope he finds his way to his own happiness.
-
I just think they are all nuts... Anything to be in front of a camera... but..... I just didn't want to believe all the rumors...... and I feel bad for his youngest Daughter's...
I think maybe it was because my friend married this guy.... so happy at first... Had two kids... then she found him in bed with another guy.... Kind of put the damper on things. Needless to say she left him, but stayed relatively friendly, because of the kids...
Just hard to wrap my little brain around.
-
Chevy- I had a friend who went through the same thing. Her husband came out to her and he tried to push her to be friends with him and his new boyfriend. To make himself feel better about the whole thing, no doubt. She was so angry and bitter. They did not have kids though, and she finally cut the cord and moved on with her life and married someone else. I knew her back east but we did not stay in touch after I left the east coast. I hope things worked out for her and her new marriage after all that. I hope Bruce's daughter survives this.
-
hey hey ladies.
Chevy. Your mashed pot pic inspired me. Dh brought some home from KFC last night. Yesterday I was nauseated and vomiting with pain after I got a shower. Women. - we always gotta push it don't we ? Lots to be done - ugh. Anyway. Had the potatoes and gravy for breakfast ( yes, of course heated ). Yum yum. Delicious.
Blondie - the pneumonia now ? Seriously ? Your turn for a break is now. Have your did been able to come and visit ? Keeping you at the top of my prayer list.
Mommy - couch , pain pills and naps. - been there for awhile. . It sucks. Hang in there. I am hopeful for much better days indeed.

Hi1 - shoulder surgery. - yikes ! Guess u missed that. When ?
Rosevalley. - a week off for reflection. ? What did I miss ? Whatever you need. Pop in just to day your ok, ok?

Hugs to all I missed. I had a horrible evening last night but feeling much better today. Still painful at surgery site but the nonstop spine pain is gone even when I put pressure on it or stand. Hip hip hooray ! I have like a million things I wanna get done. Doing a sitting happy dance. Whoot whoot!
Hootie hoo.
-

-
Patty- hope all that pain is gone soon. Glad to be here for you.
-
