concern about what happened or u could say didnt happen
hello today I had a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound follow up appt to the biopsies that I had last month that turn out to be two
Fibroadenoma. I feel a little uneasy abt the apt. I don't know if I should be concerned or not when I was getting my ultrasound done they had seen something on the ultrasound at the 10 o'clock position 8cm from the nipple but they didn't take measurements of it the radiologists I guess lkd at all the pics and just said come back in 6 months and that another radiologists will review them. Also they was doing it on a new machine that they barely knew how to use.
My question is should I be concerned if the radiologist isn't.
Should they have at least taking sum measurements on it.
Should I call me BS and tell him that I have sum concerns abt it.
Or I should I wait 6 months I'm the type of person that worries abt the smallest thing and dnt want to wait all the way to the summer and than go back and something be wrong.
your advice will greatly be appreciated
thnks

I think you should follow up with BS this way it won't be worrying you for months (at least, I hope not).

thnk u musiclover I think thts wat im going to do. do u think I should wait till I get the report bck frm the radiologist or before
-
You could call BS's office and see if they have received the report yet. They should be getting it, correct? and you could ask receptionist her opinion, maybe set up an appointment and the report will get there in time? Best wishes. It is wonderful how proactive you are being.

thnk you once again musiclover I will try my best to keep u posted

Hi, Good news on the preliminary report from the radiologist. I always welcomed the follow up in 6 months report by the radiologist. The fact that the radiologist is asking for a second opinion from his peer means that he wants to be sure that everything is ok. The best thing I ever did was see a breast specialist when I had benign breast issues. A breast surgeon will give you a better understanding on what's going on with your breast health and they will also give you a complete examination, which includes indicators and family history too. Let us know how it goes.

thnks roadrash left a message for the nurse today but didn't hear anything bck frm her today im a very impatient person if I dnt hear bck tomorr morning probably will go to the office -
Hi. I would follow up to. It's okay to be persistent about your health. You are doing the right thing. I went through it many times and the anxiety can be overwhelming. I actually stopped scheduling diagnostic tests and biopsies on a Thursday or Friday because there would be no one available to give me the results.

Roadrash today I didn't feel as if I didn't get the best service or best experience I dnt like leaving the drs feeling tht way. hoping tht the bs dnt jst brush it off either hoping he will do his own ultrasound so he cn see and do measurements himself. I feel like if I dnt get help or answers frm him I'll have to get a second opinion. -
GM im feeling a little better today roadrush and musiclover I have a appt. for a second opinion on nxt Tuesday. Hoping n praying tht I cn get some answers n some peace of mind. Will keep u posted.

It sounds as though your medical team is being responsive and acting properly to assess what they've found, and hope your seco.nd opinion is similar to just wait, as that will indicate it is only something to monitor.
Anyway, we recommend you to read the article What Mammograms Show: Calcifications, Cysts, Fibroadenomas, from our main site. It reinforces that there are many other benign masses, including some that are especially common among young women.
All the best

Hi Libra, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I think it is a good idea to get a second opinion or find a new doctor that can spend the time with you to discuss your health. Please let us know how it goes.

thnk u roadrash I surely will

update raodrash n musiclover got a second opinion yesterday the doctor clld and talked to the radiologist. They said tht they would cll the BS to schedule me for a biopsy. Feeling a little more better. I also wanted to get a Mri too but the radiologist didn't feel it was necessary so maybe when I see my gyn I ask her. -
Hi Libra -Good for you! The best thing you can do for your health is make sure you have a team of medical providers surround you. This is the time that you advocate for yourself. Doctors and Radiologist can be too laid back some times. I think it is a great idea to ask your gyn for the Mri script. It is good that the Radiologist didn't think it was necessary and that is good new but why not. I think you really have a great take charge attitude. I always did what you are currrently doing to monitor your won health. ai didn't mind going every 6 months, I just wanted to know that it was nothing to worry about or 99.9 benign. Keep track of all your information in the event down the road you switch to another provider. Some providers charge money to get a copy of your medical records if you leave providers. Please keep us updated.

Hello Roadrash I try to be the best advocate for myself because I know my body better then anyone. I had to many other health problems not to be overly concerned. I dnt always understand y doctors brush people off if they cant find anything wrong with them or they will tell u that its nothing to worry abt. I agree with u when u say u jst want to know thts nothing wrong but when they dnt take the time to listen it can drive u crazy. I'm now waiting on them to call me to schedule the biopsy but haven't cll yet i'm only able to get it dne on Fridays becoz that's the only time the dr is in the office I go to. I jst dnt like having to wait till Fridays hopefully they will give me a cll tomorrow to schedule

libra79,
Did you get the biopsy you were waiting to schedule? i know I've talked to you on other topics, and I was wondering what the outcome was.
I just got my DX of benign, but I'm feeling a little uneasy about it. I think I'm going to make an appt w/ a breast surgeon and see what he thinks about a lumpectomy. I'm a huge worrier, and I'll find out what he thinks would be the best choice - wait and see, or take it out.
Hope all is going well with you.
