It's not for everyone, but if you've been given a prescription for estring, you might be able to save on your co-pay here: https://www.estring.com/save-on-estring. It saved me ~$50 for my first try. Apparently it doesn't work for medicare/medicaid patients.

Sharing my experience with Estring for 4 months. I used Estring while on Aromasin (every time I filled it the scrip, the pharmacist would call me over for a consult with a very worried look). The Aromasin so completely dried out my system that the Estring did nothing and I mean nothing for my dryness. Walking was painful, much less intimacy. I had better luck with the SAM-E suppositories, they were not sticky or drippy and did not need to be inserted right before sexy time. I would generally use one every other day or so, and it helped the dryness. But I eventually had to go off the Aromasin, that's how bad the dryness was, and the other side effects. The medicine was working on my cancer, but my joints were in constant pain and sex felt damaging, even with Estring. It seemed strange to me that even with estrogen that close to my girly parts, it still didn't help. But I have read of others on here who have gotten relief. I hope it helps because it's so important to have healthy girly parts, especially if you have a lover who is fulfilling and gentle, as I do.

Tarheel Michelle, thanks for your story!

Kayb and others, here's the short version of mine: The problem started about 2-3 months into chemo. I'm amazed because I was just fine before that! (I'm in my 40's). So during radiation I tried Replens and Osphena but they didn't get me anywhere. I then tried Vagifem (pill suppository) twice/week, and noticed a difference immediately in some regards, but it wasn't enough to solve the "problem." Once I started tamoxifen (after radiation was done), my Dr's felt I was protected enough so that I could try the recommended vagifem prescription, which was every day for two weeks, and then twice/week after that. That slowly got me to about 90%, meaning intimacy was possible, but we had to be careful. I just started estring ~3-4 days ago, and I think it's working better than the vagifem. So far I'm actually pretty happy with the results, but we'll see how things evolve.

A question I have is how long can we keep using it? I'm hoping my sweetheart and I will still have a number of good years together enjoying all aspects of our relationship.
