Fat necrosis or scar tissue 10 yrs post reduction surgery

Had a biopsy today on very small solid mass in R Breast. While she was doing biopsy she said it looked like fat necrosis from my breast reduction. But I am 10 yrs out from my reduction, and my plastic surgeon said it wouldn't be fat necrosis or scar tissue now. Has anyone else ever had this this far out?

    Hello. Did you ever find out if it was fat necrosis? I also had reduction surgery over 10 years ago (2003) and present with a hard lump. From everything I have read fat necrosis can accur 10+ years post surgery.

    Hello,

    I have fat necrosis and yes it can increase, decrease or form later. I keep getting new lumps popping up one year post reduction so need to get them checked out again...Here we go....

    The only 'danger' with fat necrosis is if you have a small caricoma area in the midst of it. But with a good biopsy, I would think this would show up!

    thanks for the info. I haven't had any of that until recently but my mammo and USaren't until the 2nd so still not sure if it's even fat necrosis or not.
