I'm a late stage Ovarian cancer survivor, BRCA 1, just had a double mastectomy with implants on 1/12 after LCIS DX.The drains were removed on Thursday 1/22. I'm really uncomfortable. There are what feels like balls of fluid moving around on my side. I'm really swollen and can't get comfortable. Is all this still normal for this many days post surgery?

It sounds like you may be developing a seroma. Call your DR and get in ASAP. They can drain the fluid out and make sure you're not getrting an infection.

Hi TealWarrrior! I agree with Straightlover, It sounds like you may have a seroma. I had one and it was drained once, but it did return and my Surgeon decided to let it resolve on its own.It took a while, but it finally disappeared. Keep an eye on it, till you get to see the Doctor, just watch out for any redness or if you develop a fever.

I wish you all the very best for a fast recovery!

Thank you ladies! I'm pretty sure it's a Seroma too. The PS didn't seem tocare much this morning but when I called back today after I noticed some small bleeding at the incision they got more interested. If I'm still spotting tomorrow they said they'd bring me in.

The ball of fluid rolling around really grosses me out. I think it also triggers some of the shooting nerve pains.
