How long were you told it would take for results?

I'm almost 3 weeks into waiting and the stress is driving me crazy. I have surgery for a rectocele scheduled for Feb 4 and I've just gone through the anniversary of my brother's death (from cancer). I was told up to 2 weeks to get the authorization and then 4 for testing. Nearly halfway. With my luck, it will be the full 6 weeks. How do I keep myself from ruminating about it?

I'm still hung up on what to consider a % risk that justifies (to me) a preventive mastectomy. I keep rolling numbers around in my mind. This is so difficult.
