Hi TOL friends!
Sandy, how are you today? You aren't missing much with this storm coming....
DH got a kerosene heater, we have a generator we never used; got gas in the cars; I washed up the oil lamps and brought them upstairs...we have enough food for a month...
maybe it won't snow....'cause we are ready.
Work tomorrow...maybe night classes will be canceled.
Sounds great but I will have to make them up in May which is when the nice weather is....oh well.I don't mind being "cocooned" in the house for a few days. I just don't like to be cold.
BIG hugs....
going to check the other threads.

Hi ladies - checking in - haven't been on - working a bunch of hours. Not fun when there is a storm - crazy busy before the storm last week. How did you do, Joan? I hope you didn't lose power. We didn't. Not looking forward to going into work tomorrow morning for 8 in what is supposed to be heavy snow.
DS's project was to fix a portion of a trail at Dinosaur State Park. It doesn't sound like much, but it was a lot of work. There had been some erosion and those wooden boards(railroad ties?) that line the sides of the trails in places had moved out of place and some were rotted, so he replaced some and widened the trail in places and fixed the gravel.
Ok Sandy - once your ankle is healed and the pneumonia is gone - no more sickness or injuries for you, ok? I hope your ankle heals fast and the pneumonia is going away(or better yet, gone).
Beautiful pix of your family, Ducky. You must have had such a good time being with all your girls.
My kids were home to watch the Superbowl. DD just left and the snow started already. Roads are still slippery in places from the last storm. I wasn't happy to hear that she did a 360 the other day on a hill right near her apartment. Luckily, there isn't much traffic. BIL and SIL were supposed to come over to watch the game, but they somehow skidded into a snowbank - guess the roads aren't good out their way - maybe some melting and refreezing or something. So they didn't come.
Semester started on the 12th and DD hasn't had one of her classes yet. It meets Mondays at 5pm and classes keep being cancelled because of the weather. Not sure about the 1st class - maybe the professor had something going on. DS hasn't had chem lab yet - they didn't have lab the 1st 2 weeks and then lab was cancelled last week and again tomorrow...
Anyway - I hope everyone is getting through these storms unscathed.

Hi Chris,
Sounds like you are getting another annoying storm.
We had a LOT of snow last week, but we did OK. We did not lose power at all, even with the wind storm Friday and Saturday. I missed 2.5 days of classes. This is my 3rd week of classes but only met once so far. Tomorrow? not sure yet. I am in the rain/mix zone and work is in the snow zone. Should be interesting commuting.
My school just changed the way we do snow make up time. We used to have make up days at the end of the year in May (when nobody wants to come). Now we just have to submit a plan to our chair explaining how we will make up the work (extra class, online class, take home assignments). It seems much easier.
Your DS's Eagle Scout project does NOT sound easy! Repairing a trail, especially with wood retainers, is a lot of physical work. Dirt/rocks do not behave. And I LOVE Dinosaur State Park...I've been there a few times. You must be proud of him...
My grandson came home for a dental appointment and stayed for the SB game. But after cooking tasty snacks in my kitchen, he ended up going out and taking the food. Which was fine - we had plenty. However, plans to go out were canceled so we stayed in. That last play by Seattle was such a huge mistake. But it's just a game...and billions of dollars for somebody.
Hi Ducky & FK...guess I missed the party.
Sandy, did you make the move? I hope you are comfortable. Ugh pneumonia is so awful. I can't wait to hear that it went away. I don't know how you do it, but I guess nobody's giving you a chance to say "no".
Well am off to read another thread and hope I fall asleep. Work comes too soon.
Stay warm & safe!
-
Thx guys made the move now in prospect park nursing home and rehab. Starting ot pt tomorrow, they have 2 find or rent a wheelchair 4 me that has the thing 4 oxygen.
Pneumonia who know still coughing n can't breath but not as badm, getting there
Chris so nice to see u.
Ducky u r right
Joan glad u r ok...more snow
Fire.. hru
-
Sandy, I hope you are feeling better. You have to take it slow with this breathing issue. Meanwhile, you cannot let the ankle get lazy! So, OT/PT it is. I do hope you feel comfortable in this place and that you will keep getting stronger. You have faced so much and come so far.
But nobody expected this accident.
(((Hugs))) for you. -
