1.5 hour or so to CT Contrast and Nuclear Bone Scan Results
The medical oncologists told me to email me once the scans were done. He said he would give me the results today once he is able to review the scans vs. having me wait over the weekend. I emailed him. He responded about 15 minutes ago saying he was in a meeting and would call me around 6pm or so. WOW! I had told my sister that I may just come over to her place and tell the doctor in email to call me around 6. I opted not to specify the time. It is rainy and yucky out. I had decided to stay home, just me and my young son. I just texted my sister asking her if the doc called her first and is that why he's saying 6 or so! Yes, I think of Everything! She is responding, telling me that's a stretch. No, it isn't. Well, it doesn't matter much. I think. I'm expecting to hear that the cancer has spread to bones and/or organs anyway...

Thanks ladies for the prayers and positive vibes! The preliminary results of my scans are NORMAL!!! Medical Oncologist expects the final results to be the same. Who knew one could feel this elated with a 3 day old diagnosis of breast cancer. And I know there is a long, tough road ahead. For some reason, I cannot see my diagnosis as a footnote, though I definitely have it marked public. In case you all cannot see it, I am IDC, 4.5cm, ER-/PR-, HER2+ and it has spread to my lymph nodes (well one axilla lymph node was biopsied, but several were enlarged and appeared reactive). Immediate anti-HER2+ therapy with chemo was recommended. 4 to 6 cycles, once every three weeks prior to surgery. I'm actually ready to start but I think next week will be Operation 2nd Opinion. Given the same opinion, I WILL start Chemo week after next... But for now, some burdens have certainly been lifted!

SugarCakes, I'm so happy and relieved your scans are normal! I know you will do great with your tx-remember to be your own advocate. Chemo is very doable, join the chemo group of your month, you will find great support as you connect with other ladies going through the same thing!
Lucy55' thank you for good wishes! I am scheduled for a cat scan on the 5th so I don't think I will find out anything before that. I'm ok with waiting, for now. I guess my mo is waiting to see results of yesterday's bone scan.

Congrats on the normal scan! This place has been a great source of information. Good luck on starting chemo!
