good vibes Julie!!
We came here when DD was in 7th grade. Pipes were taught along with regular band. Flute is her principle instrument. Her pipe teacher was from Scotland. The pipers in band wear kilts, from middle through high school and can compete. Then we have a city band, most kids go into that. She went to Scotland twice, once in HS, once with city band, competed in World Games in Edinburough. The pipes in the pic are about 100 years old. And are hers

Of course, Scots would be scandalized if they thought the Yankees were wearing underclothing with a kilt!

Aurora, glad you shared! Fact is, I share all these from other sources too
Julie, hoping all goes well

That Pilbury one is Sooo Sad!!
Great bagpipes.
While we're on this Scottish kick I'd like to contribute that not all Scottish food is horrible. My Gran was Scottish and less well known than the shortbread is the amazing Scot's Tablet. Sometimes misnamed as fudge. My Gran's tablet was to die for. Just talking about it brings on a serious case of drool.....
She died in 1991 anfd I have seldom tasted any to equal her's - but here's a few pics to give the visual idea
Are you drooling yet?
If anyone is into sweet cooking you can find a recipe here

Also another delicious Scottish food and one which in Ireland you can conveniently buy in the shops ....Tunnock's tea cakes! My late MIL who was from NC and living in FL used to love these when she was visiting. Unusually for a marshmallow they are also 100% vegetarian. Rock on Scotland!
drool, drool, slather, slather.....

Love it! The guy in the kilt! The cattery by IKEA pretty hilarious. The kitten (I said a trim) is scary, poor thing.
