something else found and very worried
My story short in June 2014 I was diagnosed with DCIS at the time not history known in the family. 2 weeks after diagnosis I tested positive for BRAC 2. Had BM found 3 types of cancer iN the right breast and 2 in the left after path report. Jan 8th had my final reconstruction tissue expanders out. Because I was gonna be under I decided to do a preventative hysterectomy. Here I am 12 day post op and went to the hospital for chest pains. Blood clot was ruled out.
I was discharge but the doc comes to me and my husband and says "good news YouR CT was cleared but there was something found on the CT that just need to be monitored. They found 2 nodules/calcification on my right lung MY CONCERN I was told only 7 months I had calcification in my breast and I shouldn't be worried but I did have cancer and I thought I truly took the steps to kind of nip this before it gets worst since I had the gene mutation
I sit here kind of taken back pissed off and worried
My question to all the women on this site Has any one Experience this? Am worrying for nothing? Would u be upset that a doc can say good news?
How is this good News to someone who was told this 7 month ago not to worry yet it was cancer. My world has been shaken enough and it hasn't even been a year.

Are you going to have chemo? For all the other cancer found? It should also treat the lung nodules....I wouldn't fool around. Follow your gut instinct and make sure u don't get put off.
Best of luck in your treatment. Sounds like you are a smart cookie! Stay on it

zer35, I just finished residency training so I am not an expert or anything. But I want you to know that calcification in the breast and in the lungs are different. In the breast, we are concerned about microcalcifications. I had those too and am afraid of them. In the lungs, calcified lung nodules means benign nodules. This is written in textbooks. Lung nodules are such a common findings nowadays due to CAT scan. What is concerning are, big non-calcified nodules more than 0.8mm or bigger which increases in size in short interval, ground glass nodules which is big. Calcified nodules are not of concerns. That is why your doctor said good news. She did mention these to you to be monitored, because nobody wants to tell you yes it is definitely benign. it is always better to be monitored. However, in textbooks it says that calcified lung nodules are benign. It is not the same as MICRO calcifications in the breast.

8mm, not 0.8mm.
