High Risk Group?

Melissa is right: only a geneticist can tell you. But I can say I saw a genetics counselor who said I had the risk for a BRCA mutation about that of an average Ashkenazi Jewish woman (about ?2%) and I had a paternal grandmother with breast cancer after the age of 50 who only had sons, plus numerous maternal aunts with breast cancer over the age of 50.

CherieBear---do you have a family history of bc?---yes. Is it considered strong?---no. It is considered "strong" when the bc is in a primary relative (mother, sister, daughter; or father, brother, son); and considered even stronger when the bc happens at a young age (<45) or in multiple relatives. Your grandmother and great-aunt are considered only secondary relatives.
