Left Rib Pain
I started to notice when laying on my left side at night there was a sore spot (almost like laying on something under your mattress pad) and 5 days after, the ribs are very tender when pressed, and a red area about 4" long over the ribcage, kind of where my "love handle" is on that side. Worried about bone mets, or is it possible to have IBC as a recurrence in a distant area?
Thanks,
Sharon

Did you get any answers? I also have the same problem...my ribs on the bc side hurt and are tender to touch. I also noticed a very small red area on my breast. I'm very scared. It has been 4 months since radiation and I was diagnosed with truncal and breast lymphedema. I have an appointment tomorrow and hope to get answers. Hope you are well. Best wishes:

I have a sim pain and also have LE truncal area. I kept on wearing under wire bras even though LE folks say not to do so. Well, I finally switched to a non underwire bra and bingo.....no more rib pain. At one point I had xrays as I thought I had a broken bone, not!
I have finally decide it was the rads plus surgery that has given me some scar tissue that the underwire annoys the spot. Not sure if true but maybe?

Still no answers yet and this weekend I got myself in to full blown panic mode. Havent heard frim dr on xrays, so I'll call tomorrow. Went ahead and scheduled an appt with my oncologist on Wednesday, even though I'm scared. Need answers and pain is getting worse, some puffiness in node area on cancer side. Ugh, I hate this.
Wishing you all well on your pain. Glad we have this place.

I saw the lymphedema specialist and she confirmed that the culprit is the truncal lymphedema. For the rib pain which is tender to touch. For the red area on breast...have to wait until tomorrow for oncologist appt. The lymphedema specialist said she did not think it was anything of concern. I hope so because I'm just ready to go into full panic mode myself! All this waiting is taking its toll
Hope this helps...best wishes

Nimm,
I'm glad your appointment gave you a bit of reassurance. How did your onc appt go today? I'm headed there tomorrow. I'll post after.

onc appointment was not very reassuring..she said we need to keep a close eye on the red area on my breast. She said she thought it was allergic dermatitis but she must not have been sure since she asked to keep an eye on it. Ugh...so tired of waiting for answers.... I'm terrified it could be ibc! She is a skin specialist so I'm going to try and calm down...let me know how your appointment goes..hug

(((Hugs))) to you too Nimm. Sorry you are still waiting for answers. Saw my doc today and while she was fairly reassuring that what and where I was describing didn't "fit" a recurrence, she did say since I had a high risk cancer, for peace of mind to rule out BC, she ordered blood work and a bone scan. Will know results of bw tomorrow. But the scan isn't till Monday. Will keep you posted.

Hope all comes out well for you.. As for me I had another doctor look at my red area and she also said allergic dermatitis. I'm guessing since I'm not considered high risk they are not doing scans! But I did have blood work a few weeks back. Keep me posted! Hug
