Diagnosed 12-19-14 and still waiting...

I was diagnosed on 12-19-14,saw my BS on 12-31-14. I am not insured and went through two foundations to get my mammo, and my biopsies. I was assured by the foundations that if diagnosed they would cover all treatment necessary. Once I saw my BS the foundation called and said I needed to apply for Medicaid, and they did the application for me. I am still waiting for Medicaid approval.

Once I have Medicaid I have to see an oncologist, plastic surgeon and scheduling for a double mastectomy. I am told I wont know if I need chemo until after surgery.

I feel like my life is on hold. Everyone's life around me goes on. I fluctuate from fear, anger and days spent crying. I have some good days, and I try and be as productive as possible.

I don't know how to cope with all that is happening

    The waiting is so stressful. I was diagnosed before you on 12/4 and I'm still waiting. As of now scheduled for February 13th for surgery, so it will be more than 2 months from diagnosis if if happens on that date. Hang in there!

    nmh35, I hope your surgery is on the 13th and not delayed. May this journey we are on get easier.....

    For all you ladies going in for surgery, our thoughts are with you and we all hope for the best results.

    Waiting is a horrid time, as everyone on this forum will agree on, but once you start this journey there are times of waiting that are so hard - sleepless nights, brain in overdrive but be assured, you are not alone.

    We hope you find the support and advice on BCO to help. Post your fears, vent your emotions and know we are all behind you. Yoiu are all stronger than you think and will get through all this.
