I took Claritin the day before, day of, and three days after my chemo treatment. I never had any problems with bone pain. Sorry I can't help with the Evonail. I didn't use anything during my Taxol treatment. Fortunately, I didn't have any issues with my nails.

But still, hearing that you did not have trouble with your nails helps ease some of the worry of developing "zombie hands".

I did Neulasta with my neoadjuvant A/C with no problems at all. I did not take Claritin (or anything) and the only issue I had was that I would go to sleep, almost to the minute, 2 hours after injection and slept for 2 hours (again almost to the minute. That was the only SE I had with it. I did not need it during weekly adjuvant Taxol.

For nails - I've always had 'crappy' nails. I went to a 'Look Good - Feel Better' class before I lost hair from A/C. We were given a sample size of Nail Envy by OPI from the Master Cosmetologist who was doing the class(not part tof the kit given). I wound up with better nails after chemo than I ever had before. I had been 'religious' about using it throughout 4 DD A/C and 12 weekly Taxol and had better nails at the end than before. Still use it years later to keep decent nails whi h I had never had before. We are all so different and it might not work for anyone else but did/does for me.

I did neulasta after each AC infusion. I didn't have any problems from it. For taxol I took l-glutamine to help with neuropathy and I had to do neupogen shots twice toward the end of weekly treatment. I had no problems with my nails - didn't use anything for them.

Zombie hands it was a joke! :) I heard stories of nails turning black and falling off and it gave me yucky chills, haha

Nancy, I know this it's been a long time since your post but hope you're still watching. What dose of l-glutamine did you take and on which days of treatment? Thank you!!! - Chemist

chemist - just in case Nancy doesn't see your question, most of us who took L-Glutamine took 30g daily. I used the powder format and took it three times a day in 10g doses, dissolved in something cold and non-acidic so as not to denature it. Don't mix the powder with food (like pudding/applesauce), trust me - bad idea, lol!
