Port and bras

Does anyone have tips on how to make wearing a bra more comfortable when you have a port? My port was placed a little higher than usual so it wouldn't interfere with my planned breast lift during my exchange surgery.

I have been wearing strapless bras. But today I went to the gym for the first time and need better support than a strapless can offer. My sports bras and regular bras press against the port and both incisions from the port placement. The incisions have healed but are still sensitive.

I wish I had an answer for you! I have the same problem myself with the sports bra. (With regular bra I just keep the strap loose.) It really hurts by the end of a workout. Something I just thought of but haven't had a chance to try yet is placing a thick gauze pad underneath the strap just above the port. I'm thinking that might take some of the pressure off, but won't know for sure until I try it.

Try different styles. If you can find one with a strap that fits differently or is thinner (or whatever wouldn't rub....maybe even thicker so it would cover the whole port & not rub the edge....maybe thicker with the gauze under it). Go to the store, try on a bunch & see what might work. My port bugged me the whole time but I did find that some sports bras felt better than others.

I used feminine napkins to cushion my incisions from breast surgery, so they probably would work for your port incisions. I used the adhesive strips to help hold the pads in place. You could chose which ever size and thickness would work best for you.

For the seatbelt in my car, I bought one of those fuzzy covers/pads that go on the seatbelt. They are available at car parts stores.
