Quilt - SO HAPPY for the awesome news!!! Bring on 2015!!!
Bobo - thanks for checking in on me. I'm doing much better. Still tired, but I can handle that. How are you? I hope recovery is going well. Will this still be your final surgery?
Ganz - I'm so sorry you're dealing with another infection. I hope the antibiotics are working and you're feeling better. What day is your exchange? Mine's coming up too on the 20th. I'm ready to get it over with, but not looking forward to another recovery. I'm back to most normal activities, except I tire easily and I'm still extremely bloated. So much so that I have to rig my jeans with a hair tie! I'm still have some bladder pain too but my cultures are negative. I'm trying to be patient and hope these lingering symptoms fade away soon. How are you doing? Do you have bloating? Happy belated birthday! Hope you had a wonderful day!
Hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year! Here's to a wonderful 2015...we all deserve it!

-
Lol Bobo ..my future nips lmao ! How are you doing ?? Thanks for the thoughts bobo, ml and ally...BUT...my surgery was canceled (no sooner did I get done writig that it was finally the day for me..I got the call from my PS canceling) last week because I came down with a feckin staph infection
cried my eyes out for a couple days, really no reason to because its rescheduled for tomorrow but I was just soo looking forward to getting these dam TE's outta me get my squishies and not be in pain anymore. But staph is cleared up after 2 antibiotics and Im good to go tomorrow !!!
Soo..Bobo...tell me about my nips ...Im so curious about that whole thing ??
Ally how are you doing ??? Looking at your stats, you and I seem to be almost on the same schedule thru this ordeal..just in case I dont have a chance to get back here before the 20th good luck with your exchange !!
Ml and Angelfaith how are you doing ??
-
In the bag, ganzy! We'll talk about your new nips. Are you going to do 3-d tattoos? Or will you do the 'standing up' variety?
-
Thinking of you, Ganz! Glad the staph infection is cleared up. I'm doing good. I have my first follow up with my onc tomorrow. It's my "3 month" appointment, but I had to reschedule, so it's really at the 4 month mark. I'm a little anxious, but glad to be at this point and almost done! It's crazy how closely our timelines match up.
Bobo - how are you healing from your final surgery? I hope you're doing well!
-
I'm okay, Ally -- right now I have what I think is a little bit of flu! Of course, that doesn't really get me a day off at home or otherwise
I'm sore, bruised, blah blah blah... you know the drill! Sixth one is the charm
I'm in the bag for you at your 4-month appointment! You are a rock star!
-
Hi Ladies!
Ganz - you will feel so much better once you get the squishes!!
Bobo - Hope the soreness and bruising clears up quickly for you! I'm there with you - the 6th one is the charm! Please tell me about the nips..I'm doing research and can't decide if I want nips or just take a trip to Vinnie..
Ally - All will go well for your oncologist appt..I will be thinking about you and sending up positive vibes:)
My appointment went fine. PS said all is normal and I'm just sore from where he had to lipo to even it out..But he did want me to follow up with oncologist about a lymphedema specialist to make sure its not that swelling and to get a sleeve in case I want to take a trip on a airplane. Started physical therapy again so I can gain back my strength in my legs. Since I had to stop when I had surgery, its like starting all over. But all in all I'm doing very well.
-
Angel, so glad you are doing well! Totally understand about losing strength. My body is just a wreck after all this.
I had thought about what I call the 'standing up nips' -- the ones they do as outpatient office surgery, and then they tattoo over that -- but I decided against it. There is always a risk of infection, and I have had enough of that.
Also, I am sick of my PS. There are good things about him, but he has told many lies. I want my nips to be celebratory. So... I am going to Vinnie. Vinnie is the best! We will drive to NOLA. I know it's more expensive, and obviously out of network (in fact, my ins will not pay for it -- they want me to do my nips here), but I am saving up for it.
And I got my appointment! With the actual Vinnie! I am so excited. It's going to be a fun trip. And I know it will be an excellent job. I can just relax, because V knows what he's doing. I don't even feel like picking the color really. He does a mixture of all different colors anyway -- it's 3-D tattooing -- and I am going to let him do his thing, and then have dinner in NOLA! Hooray!

Hello Ladies, I am keeping up with all of you. Ally, Bobo, Angel, Ganz and wishing all the best with you all.Wishing you all no more surgeries and positive results.
Hugs
-
Oh god the anxiety and nerves are setting in
Getting ready for bed last night I was so excited for today...my boyfriend came out of the bathroom and I was bawling my eyes out ! Im so tired of the emotional roller coaster...I hope this is the last surgery for a loooooooong time !
Bobo...3-d ?? I know absolutely nothing about the whole nip thing...like I said, my ps wont discuss anything with me he is such a dick ! Sorry for the language lol
Ok well, off I go talk to you ladies soon and thank you so much for the support
-
In the bag Ganzie! Stick with me, we will do nips together
-
Bobo - YAY for your appointment with Vinnie! That's awesome! How long is he booking out? Also great to hear you're recovering well, but boo for the flu. That stinks.
Angel - glad recovery is going well!
Hi Quilt!
Ganz - hang in there, lady. You are almost on the other side of all this. Hugs.
All went well today with the follow up with my onc. It was such a flood of emotions walking in there as a survivor though. There's a big poster on the wall that survivors can sign and write messages to those who are still fighting. I just couldn't bring myself to write something yet. I don't want to jinx myself...how dumb is that?! I also had my pre-op with my PS. He sprung fat grafting on me today, so we're adding that to the mix for next week. I'm a little nervous about it since my tummy is still healing from the hysterectomy...but they said it was fine. I told my PS that no matter how they turn out, this will be my final surgery. Hopefully that gives him some incentive to do things perfectly the first time around lol.
-
Ally -- good plan regarding your PS! Telling him it's the last one is a good idea. Ask me any Qs about fat grafting -- I am an expert, lol!
Vinnie is booking about 7 months out. You've got to be 5 months out before you can have an appointment with him.
Good job today! I understand about the poster. You're going to be great at your next sx! You can do it! -
Im home !!! Surgery went very well, ps was shocked at how good my new boobs look and so am I ! They kept me overnight because they were worried about infection..so they gave me 3 bags of IV antibiotics and sent me home with some. Im exhausted, didn't sleep at all in the hospital. Nap time
-
Hooray Ganz! Glad they were extra cautious about infection. Rest rest rest! XXX
-
Gangz! So happy it all went well! Rest!
-
Gangz glad that you are home and went well. hugs -
Yay Ganz! So glad all went well and that they were extra cautious. Rest up!
-
Thank you bobo, angel, quilt and ally ! I can not believe the difference in how I feel physically. My sternum doesn't hurt anymore and the rib pain has eased up tremendously !!I Im not sure how happy I am with the appearance yet I think they might be to small. Here's something weird and kind of grosses me out, I can hear the silicone moving around when I move certain ways like if I bend over they shake. Has anyone who has had their exchange experienced this and is it normal ?? Another thing that's new in the past two weeks is Ive been having severe calf pain. I told the docs when I was in the hospital this past week about it but they pretty much blew it off. Ugg it's always something since my diagnoses. This really is the disease that keeps on giving. Oh well on and forward..just have to learn to live with certain painsAlly it's almost your turn ! Tuesday right ?
-
Ganzie: call the breast coordinator and can you schedule a PT massage? You need some massage after all the trauma your body has gone through.
Massage? Essential oils? Arnica? Bananas? X XX.
I do not have squishies so cannot advise. I have boobies made out of my own fat, it is a new thing! XXX
-
Bobo...I considered deep flap but when I found out it was permanent I changed my mind. Ps said if I did that and didn't like it, I would be stuck with it because apparently you cant put implants in after deep flap ? Have you heard that ? I wasn't sure about whether or not I believed that. But, he did say it was always an option for me if I wasn't happy with the implants. What do you mean by PT massage ?? I so desperately need a massage ! I think Im starting physical therapy in a few weeks hopefully massage is part of it
-
Ganzie, there is not much massage with PT, from my experience. You need a real massage, but with a PT. They have a tiny office at my hosp. It took me a while to find it.
I do not have DIEP... I have AFT. No gauge, no scarring, nothing. It was barbaric, but I had been so gouged up with infections and surgeries... this was really my option. XXX
-
Ive never heard of AFT...what kind of surgery is that ??
-
It's a new thing. It's just been approved for mx patients. It used to be for breast enlargement for non-mx people. They use this device, called brava, to create a matrix for the fat to be deposited in. Then they use AFT (autologous fat transfer -- it's a lipo) and deposit your own fat into the matrix.
In the end, it's your own tissue -- no alloderm, no animal products, no medical devices. I am the first one to do it in my PS's office. Just finished. X
-
Ganz - that's awesome you're feeling so much better! I'm so glad to hear that!
I'm up tomorrow. Can't wait to get these expanders out! I'm also having fat grafting.
-
Ally...Im so excited for you ! You may not need the fat grafting..I was supposed to have fat grafting but didn't need it because my ps was able to place the implants up high enough that they filled the divots. Im so happy with my implants ! Good luck tomorrow Ally !!! Let me know how your doing after surgery
Bobo...I will have to keep that option in mind..not sure if my ps does it but now that Im at the end of my surgeries I think Im going to look for a new ps...
