mommy, if you don't mind my asking, why the delay? I had skin sparing BMX and waited 5 months before TEs. But it was because of a breast lift I did 12 years before. Good luck with your upcoming sx. We'll be in your pocket
-
What is Chevy hung over? Out to late pole dancing? I've been waiting since 7:30. YOOHOO Chevy come out come out where ever you are?
-
Have NO clue what is going on here, I've been off having surgeries
But the fin is coming along nicely and the ankle works again. I hope you all are well and warm!
I just wanted to pop by and say Hello!!
and for Chevy...................................................................................

-
4!!!!!! Good to see you again!!!!! Don't be gone so long, missed you!!!!!!!
-
That poor rooster looks like he just made it out of the cooking pot half plucked! Pitiful. Glad you are doing better 4sewwhat.
Blessing- I know just what you mean. I had a PCA for both of my mastectomies and finally realized after the second time that morphine makes me nauseous.. so it was relieving one thing and adding another.. Once I went to oral pain meds MUCH improved. I fully understand why the nurse was so eager to get you out, but you don't need to yell. Hospital acquired infections are a real issue. All the bugs present in your own house you are used to and your immune system knows them. Hospital stuff can getcha if you are not careful. I do not think discharging older people with insufficient supports at home is a good idea. Only leave if you have someone to help you, get meds, meals, assist to bathroom if wobbly etc.. especially the first 24 hours after anesthesia because it takes a little bit of time to clear it from your body. Folks nearly always sleep better in their own bed with their own pillows! The right pillow combination is crucial haha!
Have a great day. It's sunny this morning! Wow... poured bloody murder last night.

Had a horrible experience getting a breast MRI yesterday. Got it authorized at an imaging center close to where I live. I got there, very nice technician had problems finding vein in arm for contrast dye. I have always had this problem, and sometimes they use back of my hand. But he found a vein in elbow crease, but blood everywhere dripping down my arm, from multiple attempts. He had me lay on stomach, jut like I did for all other breast MRI exams. The portable platform that the breast hang in was about 10 inches tall and made of hard plastic which poked my ribs. Because of the additional height of the patform it put me up higher in the mri tube. He put me into the machine head first, my back and back of head scraped along the top of the tube. The pain in my ribs was excruciating, and it was hard to breathe being this confined. The test was scheduled to be a little over an hour. I could not bear the pain in my ribs and confinement. Pulled me out of tube after 15 minutes. Said I should schedule this test at breast center cause they have better platform table, and wider tube. I left feeling like I was ready to have implants removed, I was feeling so done with repeated scans, mri's, scar tissue issues, iron infusions, bone loss, imaging test on unknown tumor that can't have biopsy, tiredness, achiness and on and on.....ugh
-
Pawprint, I am so sorry, what a terrible experience! Why did they think they could do any of that to you? Poking holes all over, and then they try to drag you into a tube, no wonder it was painful. I hope that the breast center has better employees also! The treatments are bad enough, it's the on and on and on and on and on and on....that gets me. No end in sight. Sigh. I hope you have a relaxing weekend.
-
Pawprint-
I had a similar experience when trying to get a breast MRI shortly after dx. The tech was nice enough, but when he tried to get me into the tube I couldn't fit. I was also on top of a platform and it caused my back to be squeezed like crazy. I was humiliated and horrified that I couldn't fit. My BS sent me for a PEM scan instead. This all happened at a hospital too and I ended up switching hospital because of it.
((hugs)) I'm sorry this happened.

Smaarty,,,,boy you have long hair.....or course I have none right now...lol...that will take about 3 years to become all white. When you get about a 3 or 4 inch outgrowth, you should go to a good salon and pay the bucks to get an all over highlight/frost...good old fashion frosting to bring the foiled pieces up to white. That will match your white coming in. With shorter hair it's easier cause you can fudge the color and cut it to meet the natural color sooner. Need a good color tech for a one time shot to get you through..
4sewhat....so nice to see you. Hope you are healing up well

On meditation.....if I can focus when I pray at night...key for me...focus.....I can fall asleep . My individual prayers for people are long and very specific, so if you aren't in my top five, I am sleeping before I gets to you...lol...sorry
Hope everyone who is having tests get things figured out soon and not in a painful way
Be good
-
I was supposed to have one of those on the stomach MRIs. Even took my insulin pump off for it. With my funky back, I couldn't do it. So they sent me for an open MRI. You are sitting. I don't think the tech had ever done one on breasts. When my surgeon saw the report, he went ballistic. I mean he was yelling in the exam room, went stomping out yelling get DrB on the phone, stat!
Don't do an open for bc.
-
smarty - looking good.
SAS - what's wrong ? You moved your appt up. ? Hope all is well
Blondie - yea ! Glad to see you post. I agree hospital social worker should be able to help. They know a lot of resources we are unaware of. Now about nobody bring able to help you at home : wth ? I thought this might be an eye opener for them. Don't let it get you down. They will come around sooner or later but I am hoping for sooner for ya.

Hello, 8;00PM and just got in from lunch, thrifting, and grocery. FEET hurt, body too. Only three little repeat pieces. Went to lunch with some work mates from my old hospital. We laughed and gossiped. Every time it got good they would lower their voices. WHAT? WHAT?
Patty, just stuff, if anything comes up serious, I'll let you know. Just knew that they needed to be evaluated now and not in two months. Everything being ordered and referrals made.
Spookie, I see what you mean about the cell phone towers. Nice not an eyesore. That's nice.
$$$$$$$$4444444444 Hello, glad you are mending. I was looking yesterday for an old post on STFU and thought of you when I saw your Avatar. We need and update on the kids. Any drama with your Mom? Is the catering business still going? I hired a cleaning girl. Decided today I'm going to have her come every two weeks. I'm pampered LOL. Lawn guys, pool guy, bug guy. Now cleaning gal. The cleaning gals a treat. The rest are necessary. Hmmmm Cleaning gal is necessary, I don't want to do it. Watch she won't be able to do it. Google Dowton(sic) Abbey, Violet's cake or Dowager cake. With your skill you will like seeing it.

Chevy still you haven't checked in. What up? You were on W&F's. Are we abandoned? See how you perked up with just the mention of Cami's name.
Susan My mate from nursing school is the same way. One time she asked how I was b/c she prayed the same way every night. If I was okay she needed to make room on her list. I take the all at once approach.
Rose I want you to call, but strange week for things happening. Tomorrow out the door by 1:20pm and will likely be back around 6:30. What week exactly will you be heading to Tampa. I'm getting a referral to Moffitt for the thyroid F/U. I'll attempt to make the appointment when you plan on being in Tampa.
Smarrty, on a limb here. Feathered page boy shoulder length?
Okay one of three little stories we laughed about today. We had hospital cell phones. That rang incessantly. Just another layer of interference, but did help in getting stuff--new orders, troubleshooting. One morning by 9am I was spinning. I was accessing a little old alzhiemers patient. Clicked off the phone. Put my stethoscope to my ears, and the bell to her chest and then My brain realized upon hearing me say "Hello this is sas" , that I had answered the phone far to many times that morning.

HOLE_IN_ONE in my travels today, I saw a previous thrift identified. Duncan --teardrops pattern. Have to look at Replacements.com to see. I thrifted two pieces the same day different stores. Couldn't find the pattern. Yay. Duncan was elegant glass. Hoping that pieces are rare. OH the CHASE..BBL with pic
I have this in clear glass(the one in the link is a green)----this pic doesn't do it justice. But looking for the pattern for many years. This is an inadvertent find of a name and pattern by looking for something else. Paid <10$
Thrifted the below for a pittance. Found a dome in the same pattern on the same day at a different store. Couldn't find the pattern. Went into the antique mall today. AH_HAH name and pattern. Duncan Miller --Teardrop pattern. So far can't find a dome with a price on it. Domes don't last. What's unusual here is RC.com doesn't list/show a dome. Which could make it very rare. They usually get separated or broken. What's unique about the plate is the clear portion of glass. Finally learned that clear class that is involved with a pattern is tuff to produce without defects. That little Fostoria ---Colony cake plate 7 inches x 5 inches approximate 179 $ marked down to 130$. OH CHIT reaction. The key was the clear glass portion.

The dome was on a base. (baseplate, where's the base?) It was only after I got home that day and laid out all the treasures on the table. Hmmmm this looks like it matches this.----Never saw the pattern before. Didn't realize they were related till I unpacked everything. Isn't that fun.

Oy the big D is driving me crazy today... ugh. Don't know what set this off, but my intestines are in over drive.. TMI. Drove a bunch of kids to a sleep over an hour away. My poor 13 year old is all in a tizzy about my leaving for Florida. She thinks I will die and not come back. Big boo-boo face and tears. Lots of reassurance. Where do kids get these crazy ideas? We are like weeds and it takes a direct hit with round-up to knock us off. I'm still kickin. My other kid wants me to take her to see Grandma, forget Mom! Haha.
I'll call you tomorrow Sas after you get back. Just have to remember the time differences.
-
Rosie, LOL we are nurses------------oh the poor kids. Have a booboo---Blow it off (DS 3y/o). He blew on the booboo. I laughed so hard. Other nurses the same. What we take for granted......is hard on others. She's a little girl, you big tuff nurse. Okay
we will get together sometime tomorrow. On a glass quest
-
Blondie- I heard you are here and so sorry to hear about the fall, surgery, etc. I am sorry your family cannot help more, but have been in similar circumstances and think going somewhere that you WILL get help as you recover is really important now.
You can good care of yourself and keep you in my prayers for a speedy recovery.
-
I gotta go back a few and read, but had to share my lemon crop! this is the first time we've had a harvest like this. 1st year- nada, 2nd and 3rd- 1 lemon, last year I think we had 3. This year we hit the jackpot! Time for lemon tarts and lemoncello!

-
JWoo - your lemons are beautiful!
A bowl of lemons on my kitchen counter just makes me happy!
-
Oh damn! That's RIGHT! Okay, on the last page, I was commenting on your hair Smarty! And said I think it is beautiful! I feel better with longer hair too, but once in awhile I get a whim, and get the scissors out and just start cutting!...
I've always done my own hair... because then I can't blame anyone but myself... I've had it done 4 times in my life... and came home and did it all over...
I DID used to do hair... My neighbor's, relations, Avon Lady, etc. But I only charged $1.... And everyone got the same hair-do...
I almost took a job styling wigs, but I only wanted to do the hair-style that I knew... I got the job, but then called back, and said I found another part-time job with Pepsi which was better...
Anyway, I had this long post on the 15th, and I went to another page, and did not hit submit, so then it was gone... !!! I thought OWTH!!! So I quit.
And Sassy, you were falling apart.. bit by bit, but now you are all checked out, and waiting for results? And lunching with your friends! That is the best!
Rosie, I ALSO said, that was a great story about that guy who wanted to stay in the Hospital! Man, I did everything I COULD to get out of there... 3 nights and I was going to beat feet if they didn't release me! I just wanted to be home with DH, and be all normal... as much as I could anyway.
I also posted that link... with the BALL... to my Brother's FB! He used to play the Marimba, and that reminded me so much of him, and when we were kids.
Morning Enerva, Spookers and Blessings! Teka, Will we ever run out of "owls"? Ha! Everytime I see one somewhere, I post it!
4444444444444! About TIME! Glad you are loving your "fin".... I know you were having so much trouble with it!
Yes Rosie.... You have to have someone at home to help... DH was so sweet... even helped me lift my leg onto the bed.... I can't believe I was THAT laid up! But I cooked and walked around like I knew what I was doing! Hah! I haven't heard "bloody-murder" in a long time! Haaaahaaa!
LittlePaws... Your TEST sounds like it was done on the MOON! How DARE those people! Sounds like someone didn't know what they were doing!
How is Annie?
Hi Beachbum! And Tang! Man, I don't know where you guys are going to get these MRI's! Somewhere like Hank's Auto Body??? I thought it was bad just getting a Mammogram! Those things squeeze hard, you can't even scream! It takes your breath away, literally! Last time I told her DAMN that hurt~! And she said, we just have to get that whole SIDE of your breast... Talk about "bloody-murder!"
Morning Susan! Yes, we all need quiet time... to ourselves... You have a "top 5"??? Hah! That's funny!
Spookie! Yikes! So your surgeon guy was a little miffed? I don't know what you are talking about, with that exam, but glad your surgeon got it straightened out.
Hi Peppermint! You were talking to Blondie... We just gotta get the ball rolling somehow with her... to get things straightened out...!
Okay Sass... I have been trying off and on for 3 days to get that Tablet going. Well it will NOT recognize my wi-fi connection from my modem from the phone co. going to my computer! After 1 hour the LAST time with them, we both gave up.
I finally took it with me to Starbucks, where in 2 minutes I was connected! Then at the Casino, I tried again... Same thing! So the damn thing will work, but not here at home.
Now that's the whole POINT! To get it to work here at home! But I just love my big-screen monitor, my key-board, and how easy it is to get online with THIS! So I don't NEED no Tablet! It's going back to Janie... It needs another home where someone will appreciate it... Not here.
And funny story Sass! Hah! I got the biggest kick out of DH last night... We were watching something stupid on TV, and he saw this commercial about Lysol spray... So he repeats part of it, and waves his hand around in the air like he is spraying SOMETHING, and I just CRACK UP! I said "What did you just say?" And he says "We need Lysol, so we can spray it, on all of our furniture, and stuff".... Well, I LOST it! He is spraying this imaginary CAN of Lysol, and I am giggling and falling over, and laughing so hard, looking at that look on his face, then HE laughs, and I just said OH STOP!! I laughed so hard, and giggled, and you know what it's like when you get tickled and can't stop? I started wheezing! I could not LOOK at him without laughing! I went and got the Inhaler, and would NOT look at him again! Just WATCH him say something in Lysol talk! But it was fun.
Okay.... Sass is thrifting and glassing, and Rosie has the big D... Your Daughter sounds so sad Rosie! Aren't you like 3 hours from Sass?
Okay, last page.... and LEMONS! I love that JWOW~! You have LEMONS! They are gorgeous!
So Hi Blondie... wherever you are! Hope you are doing better.... !
And morning Jazzy! Talk to y'all later! xoxo

J Woo- what beautiful lemons and congrats on a beautiful bounty! My sister has a lemon tree in her yard in CA, and gets these huge lemons on it, which I enjoy when I visit. Nothing like fruit straight from the source......
I got a nice PM from Sas welcoming me back to this thread. Some of you may remember me here from before, and I dropped off awhile back, as it is a very busy thread and with working and all the rest I do, I could not keep up! I will give it another try as I know many friends here from other threads and want to keep up on all things Blondie too!
Wishing you all a lovely Saturday and a long weekend if you work and get the holiday on Monday off too!
-
OMD chevy!!!!!! You got that Rocky Mountain high thing going on today
-
JWoo, I've never seen such nice lemons in any store in the North Country!
Chevy, there will always be an occasional owl swooping down on this thread.
Jazzy, welcome back friend and Owlette!!

-
jwooo...they look sooooo good. Now I would make whiskey sours with them to go along with my lemon tarts yummmmmmmmy

Chevy, I have an iPod , it was bought for me by my cuz, so I won't complain to much. It updates all the time and I have to relearn stuff...not easy for this brain. Right now I cany get pics from Pinterest moved to my photo gallery to post here. I used to love posting pics. Gotta wait for the kid to come home. Prob the only thing she knows more than me...ha ha. Font we always tell are kids we know everything.....then came the technology age..darn them. Took me a few minutes to catch on to the Lysol the time. Lol
It's 37 here in Chicago. Picnic anyone ??
Got a massage last night cause of all over pain....had some edema from last chemo...ohhhhh 22 pounds worth..yuck...never been this weight. Anyway, felt awesome after massage. Last night, peed every half hour, a ton each time. Must have got that water moving out of my cells!!! I won't tell my clients today I didn't sleep, ha ha. I will just draw my eyebrows in a little higher with the arc, should make me look more awake. Lo
-
Susan- glad to hear you got a massage and it helped to move excess fluid out. I have water retention from the AIs and noticed after my massage yesterday, the same de-watering occurred.
I hope you feel better and lighter today!
-
Chevy, did the phone guy get you to enter a password for your wifi? You go to Settings, click on Wifi, click on your wifi signal, then it should ask for a WEP or WPA code. That code is a long string of letters and numbers and is found on your router. It is case-sensitive, so enter it exactly. Then you should be connected. Also, you only have to do this once.
-
I KNOW! I did this about 5 times with Qwest... and it would always say something about "not being able to connect." Then the guy gave me a different "Qwest7486" Changed it to Qwest "7488"... Still nothing...
Yes, the password is my phone number, and it would take it, but then not stay connected. I don't have a router, just the modem from Qwest, which SAYS wi-fi, but it's just kidding!
It only took a second when I was at Starbucks!... My Dell modem is connected to the modem from Qwest.... and I don't have any problems with the computer... I'm baffled... but thanks....
Hi Jazzy! glad you are here!
-
"says it's wifi but just kidding " LMBO!
