If not for Prilosec, Zantac, and Beano I don't know how I'd survive chemo.  I've got really bad burning in my esophogus and stomach.  Evan water burns.  Next week I will have my 4th and final A/C so I'm really hoping the burning will go away.

What "magic potions" have you found to get yourself through chemo?

I had a friend who also experienced the burning and was put on the prilosec and zantac routine and she mentioned it to me before I began my chemo.  When I started with the burning in my lower stomach tho i did not think about it being heartburny (not a real word I know) but when I went in for a follow up and talked about it with the staff, I too was prescribed them both.  Within 48 hours, I felt amazingly different.  I am getting ready for what I hope is my last chemo on the 27th and take my prilosec and zantac 2x a day and it is the only way I get through it.

Were you on A/C followed by Taxol?  If so, did you have the burning through the Taxol too?  I'm really hoping to not have it after I'm done with the A/C.

I reccomend you to use Zantac because I always suffer from burnings but this medication helps me very much.

    tiagomendes,

This thread has been inactive since 2010. Sadly, chele passed away last year
