Dune,
The sun conure is quite loud at sunrise and sunset.
Sounds just like a blue jay.

Hi dunesleeper, I keep telling myself some day this may be funny. Like the day I went to meet a friend for coffee and took my hat off and my wig was still in the hat! Or the day I tried to "fix" my boob and got upset so I just shoved the form in and left to go shopping. And it wiggled itself up and out of the bra. That was hilarious, I felt like I was trying to figure out my first bra in junior high school. I should have used socks, it worked then. I know that I don't feel so pretty and sexy putting on my wig, painting on eyebrows, gluing on eyelashes, and stuffing my bra. It's hard for me to be all confident when I'm waiting to see what part falls off. LOL I have issues just trying to assemble me, I'm not sure how I would handle a relationship right now. At stage IV I'm not too sure I have time find a man and get him trained. I think a friend would be well, just nice!
Thanks, nice knowing I'm not so alone.
-
every time I rub my face I wonder if I rubbed an eyebrow off. People are so used to me now....I am always saying....whoops are the lashes still on.....and people just nod their head. Sometimes they feel, like they are flopping up there. And I did laugh when the window of the car was open and the wig went flying off to the back. Good thing not out the window...that would have been a surprise for someone. I am married, I try not to put on my face everyday. Don't want him shocked when it all comes off at night . It certainly isn't easy.....but it is funny often too.
Hope you find a great friend

Susan3- we make Chinese food at home all the time - even potstickers. I learned how to make those from the internet. Just buy the wrappers. I buy the broccoli slaw, shredded carrots and snap peas for stir fries - add seasonal vegies. Sometimes we visit a Chinese market and buy bags of baby bok choy - so yummy. I steam it in a steamer. We make spring rolls with rice paper, lettuce, carrots, fake crab and fill them. We make our own peanut sauce - out for you. You can buy pickled vegetables and get rice vinegar and soy for dipping. I absolutely LOVE the Chinese eggplant. It's firmer and makes excellent stirfry. You really need to get an Asian market that has all the rice noodles, wheat and tofu.

thanks rose..I am on it

-
Rose got you PM, but it's 1;12 am . Brains dead. Will think on it tomorrow.
Sleep tight Owlettes, If Hopeful wanders by, say Hi. I invited her from the 2D6 thread. She said she was going to read from the beginning. I didn't tell her there's thousands of post and 690 pages. There were 14 pages in the first 36 hours. Talk about spinning. Any whos nighty night.
Rose flash, .nurse navigator ...had to write it down tonight. Talk tomorrow
-
A plant nursery in Houston had a Myna bird in a cage close to the seeds. If you tried to get it to talk it would just look at you. If you ignored it and looked at the seeds, it would say "Hi. My name's Joe. What's your name?" DIL was a music major and taught her cockatiel to whistle songs. He could do I left my heart in SFO and a march.

beachbum - those are stories you should share on the "You Know You're A Cancer Patient When..." thread.... https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/67/topic/755825?page=142#post_4268923 - only 142 pages to peruse if you want to read other peoples' experiences that only other BC patients can relate to.....

Miss Sassypants and others who know their antique glass and porcelain and china.... I'm going to post a picture of my Nana's hot chocolate set that is now missing a lid, but was passed down to me years ago. I love it, and will see if any of you can give me some info on how to research it.

Miscellaneous ramblings.....
Song: "Let It Go"
Movie: Disney's Animated "Frozen"
Sung by: Idina Menzel
She Was Called: "Adele Dazeem" by John Travolta
This movie got on my nerves the very first time I saw the trailer. Then the tsunami of "Frozen" covers hit, with every single parent in America posting videos of their children singing "Let It Go", mostly not very well. And every second piece of merchandise in the stores was some "Frozen" - related item. I thought I'd scream if I had to see any more "Frozen" stuff.... and then...... I discovered that Santa had left me the DVD in my Christmas stocking!!!!!
I did a good imitation of excitement.
-
Blessings not sure what planet I was on when Frozen was out, But I've never heard of it? There's about ten listings for it on IMDB starting in 1998 till 2013. What year? Can't wait for you to post china. RE:you--you sound so good. BTW noticed that my vertigo stopped awhile back.Beachie, LMG(littlegoats) has goats,

Sorry whomever asked about melatonin. Out right now. I forget brand as I was given about 4 bottles a few years ago. Certain things like fish oil, d3, b complex, selenium, probiotics, I get from a very reputable local health-food store. Melatonin too expensive there. Not had my level of concern raised about Melatonin from a grocery. If anyone else has any info
-
Sass, about Melatonin.... I took it for sleep issues while on Tamoxifen.... But then I started with the big D! Could hardly control it.... except by taking 4 Immodium AD a day!
Finally figured out that with ME, and taking Tamoxifen, it did NOT work! I slept better, but could not keep from running to the bathroom... So I quit the Melatonin, and then I didn't have any more problems... except the hearing issue.... so THEN I quit the Tamoxifen.
I just know that everything you take, might affect something ELSE with you.....
Also, I heard from the CAMMERS! So I'll post a little more later! I was really worrying about her.... but she is alright, but not her Brother's, and Joey is still driving her dog and cat nuts with the Clarinet. I told her to lock him out-doors when he practices.

Chevy, good, about update on Cami, We all miss her so much.and the repartee the two of you had every morning.
BLONDIE yoohoo (waving). Hope you are doing better.
-
I make my own sweet and sour chicken. I never bread the chicken like they do in the restaurants and in the sauce I add pineapples, cherries, carrots and green peppers.
My paternal grandmother had two parakeets (one green and one blue) when I was small that she called Starsky and Hutch.
My house is a mini zoo. Besides Princess and Jackson, I have a 20 gallon fish tank that has a betta, and several tetras and two catfish.
-
Blondie - hope you are going better.
Chevy - thanks for posting about cami. I too miss the banter between you too.
Beach bum - a birds eye view if a bald eagle - I am so jealous.
Dune - never heard of earring stickers. That's cool. You must be a great , great aunt.
Susan - picturing your wig flying in the back of the car. Too funny. thanks for sharing.
I am doing much better today. The back pain is considerably better right now ( prob due to the pain meds I just took ). Emotionally I am great ! Funny how pain affects our mental attitude so much.
Hope all have an awesome day. Stay warm
Hootie hoo

Cammi talked about her two Brothers.... not doing so well, and they are all worried about them.... Also her Sister, with her knees! That whole family is falling apart.....
And SHE got a cane! Damn kid! You would think she is pretending to be ME or something! I told her I have a couple with a light on them! Like we need "light" when getting up to go to the B-room in the middle of the night! Because we might forget where it IS, and need to light our way. And her arms are weak she says, so I think she is in a mell of a hess. She needs a .... what are those things called with 2 wheels, and the "cops" ride them around the malls? She needs one of those... A Segway or something?
Her BIGGEST problem, and she has many, is her COMPUTER! She is trying to explain how all the stores in the world are on to her, and sending her ads or something? I can't figure out what she said.... and neither can she.... but she was adamant about that problem! So Joey is trying to help her.... An ARMY would not help. She needs someone like George Clooney to come help her out.
Susan, we are falling apart..... by bits and pieces. I won't even TELL you the parts I remove before certain activities....
I also had fish..... lots of those damn fish. That obsession started out with the girls, and 2 little bowls, and 4 little gold fish. By the time I was through with the fish, the girls were grown, and I had a 55 gal. show tank! I raised Angel fish which would breed, and then I had millions of Angel baby eggs, which hatched into baby Angels.....
I then bred Betta's, which when they breed, the female kind of swims on her side, and the male wraps himself around her, and they float to the bottom, and then eggs come out of her, and HE runs and gets them all in his mouth, and blows them up into his bubble nest, and then he runs and finds her and does it until she runs out of eggs..... And then those eggs eventually hatch into babies, and the male then eats them all. ..... But I sold the Angel babies to the pet-shop! I learned how to hatch my own baby brine shrimp to feed the babies, and I really enjoyed it for awhile.
Once I even ordered Sea-horses.... and watched the Male give birth to little babies! I finally got allergic to their water.... trying to always clean the sides of the tank, and clean their water..... But it was fun while it lasted. So before youj run out and buy your own tank and fish, think about it for about 2 weeks..... and give yourself lots of time, because taking care of THEM is sometimes harder than taking care of the chickens!

Daughter went through so many fish here at home. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Huge fish tank and accessories in the cellar.
Daughter and BF now have the small fish tank and accessories.
I don't miss the smell and cleaning!!

Read the update about Blondie going to rehab. If anyone speaks to her please give her my love. Praying for good recovery.
OK you surgery people. Isn't it the 2nd-3rd day you feel worse than the day after? Had my laser eye surgery Monday. Pitiful day. Doc more than an hour late starting. Didn't get home until about 3:30. We only made one brief grocery stop in Ft. Worth. Argument with pharmacy here in town over price of eye gel - what good does it do to call insurance ahead of time. Quoted one price by ins. and actually another of course more expensive price. Will admit insurance rep. did call back b4 I got home to verify she looked many places to verify the correct more exp. price. At least this will do for the other eye having done Monday. Anywho - eye felt OK yesterday, not great, tolerable. Felt Mon like it was being scratched by a rusty nail. Bit back to that feeling today. That's why I asked the surgery question. Not bad enough for me to call into office. Vision as good as it can be with goop in it. A little red but that was b4 gel put in it.
Susan - I make stir frys all the time. Did so last night. Thin sliced pork loin, broccoli, red pepper, mushrooms, green onions, garlic, canned water chestnuts. Had a bought stir fry sauce but I've done just plain bottled teriyaki and cornstarch. I think maybe the plain teriyaki would not have peanut, at least I shouldn't think so. Make good rice and make the stir fry a bit saucy. Many times I will cheat and use frozen vegies - just knew I would be craving something fresh by yesterday. Made plenty of leftovers for tonight.

LMG Always sumpin. Call your doc. Could be the gel. What is the gel? I asked the question in that order b/c you need to call the doc. Did I say call the doc.? Oh yeah, call the doc.Not unusual to develop reactions to stuff for the eye, but eye will do better if it's dc'd The doc needs to know to make that decision. They've used continuous special suture since @ least !992. Plus, I'm unfamiliar with gel. Maybe it's the expected. The doc will tell you
We have another goat lady----Beachbum.
-
Lost the post
LMG call the doc. Shorter tan the lost post.. Duh, calling
Talked with lmg. She's good

so DH and I were out, he says see that tree? Yeah. It's not a tree. You're full of it. He pulls over. It's a cell tower! They hide fairly well!

-
Haaaaaaaaaah! That's very good Spookie! I have noticed that everywhere in Florida I have been, is just neat, and beautiful, and well kept! Including the highways, and how clean everything is!
Winter weather with the freezing, just wreaks (is that a word) havoc on all of our highways and streets! Even the buildings are nice, beautiful architecture, and always kept up! You guys should be proud.......!

I will check in, thanks 4 your concern

-
so sorry blondiex. Hope you heal up quickly. Are there rehab places you can go live? Here you go from hospitol to rehab. They won't let you go home even if you beg them. Live in rehab facility first. Hope you have something like that and insurance paysfor it....good luck. Praying for you xxoo
-
Oh Blondie! WTH? Thanks for posting a picture anyway!
Can you work with a social worker from the hospital, or rehab place? Tell them you have no-one to help you out.... that your kids are on another planet, and can't take care of you. Tell them you will work for room and board.... like do dishes or something!
Can you even bend your leg? You will not be permitted in the pole-dance class.... Nope.... those casts are too cumbersome....
Did they say you could go "upstairs" to their rehab? Can you do that? Looks like you can't depend on family help? Yet?
I just don't want you to worry..... I wish I could make you smile..... you want some Chicken soup? xoxoxoxo
-

Please rest up and try not to worry!

Susan, wanted to let you know that I'm a blonde now. Have had my hair bleached twice, 1 more time than we'll see how my natural color blends in. Not solid white like a thought it was, lots of pepper in there. I'm actually liking the color change.
New year, new body, new boobs! What more could a girl ask for!
Hope everyone has a nice weekend. I'm going to Monterey for a sewing retreat. Will take pics.
