Best sports bras/prothesis for tennis and jogging?
I so appreciate all of the information on this site and you ladies that provide it. I had a BMX with no reconstruction in November and am feeling pretty good. I was hoping to try tennis and jogging again and am looking for suggestions for sports bras and prosthesis that are very secure. (i.e. so my foob doesn't fall out in the middle of a tennis match.) I have the TruLife Leisure form size 3 but wasn't sure if a heavier form would be more stable/secure during exercise? Or maybe the opposite is true? Many thanks!

I am not sure, I hope you get some answers! Or you may enjoy the freedom of playing with out forms too! They can be uncomfortable when perspiring.
I am glad you are feeling well and I hope someone who plays sports answers!

Hi Flowers2,
There are a couple of sports bras that I included on my (non-profit) BreastFree.org website because they were specifically recommended by a number of women. You can check out all the bras in the Bras and Camisoles section, but to make it easier, the two that would probably be of interest to you are the Amoena Performance Sports Mastectomy Bra and the Trulife Sophia Activity Bra. As far as what breast form would work best, your leisure forms might work well but you may find that the bras ride up with them, in which case you might want to opt for a heavier form. That's really a matter of trial and error.
Hope this helps!

I have had two of the Amoena Performance sports bras, they were by far my favorite....so comfy I wore them nearly all the time. One eventually wore out and the other became too big as I lost weight. Next time I got bras I tried some other models out. I may get another Amoena or try the Trulife next time as I am getting in a lot more exercise than I was in the beginning. I can't speak to the best type of form because I had BMX so don't need to worry about evening out the weight. Early on I bought a pair of microbead forms that can be worn in the water; I use those when I go exercising because they give me some shape but are very light and breatheable. My exercise consists of rowing (or using a rowing machine) and yoga. When we are rowing on the water, there is also a lot of lifting and carrying. So not running around, but definitely moving.

Wasthe cup very full in the Amoena performance ? tried some on today but they didn't have my size in foobs. If the cups are full I go down a cup size trying to decide which to order. Thanks!

I found the cup to be less full then in regular mastectomy bras....no padding in them. I just got (yesterday) a Trulife Sophia that I ordered recently, so I can't wait to try it out. I put the microbead foobs in and they seem to do okay (they are smaller than my silicone ones). The only problem I can see so far is that the front chest line is a little on the high side, but I think it was on the Amoena as well. Kind of peeked out above the V-neck in one of my workout shirts. I also have an Amoena sports tank that I use a lot....http://www.metromedicalonline.com/amoena1003.html#.VMGFNZV0ziM When I am exercising at home I don't put anything in (I had bmx), it lays mostly flat across my chest; but when I go to the rowing club I can put in the microbead foobs so I don't look like a freak but they are lightweight and don't get too hot)
By the way, if you had BMX you might be more comfortable with lightweight foobs for tennis/running. The ones I got arehttp://www.tlcdirect.org/Micro-Bead-Lightweight-Breast-Form-Mastectomy-Prosthesis-American-Cancer-Society-TLC-Direct?did=80 . They are so light, and you can also swim in them. And they are hand/gentle washable.......what I do is put them in the sports tank I posted above, and then after I exercise and sweat a lot I leave them in and run them through the gentle cycle in the washer and then hang to dry. I have had them for a year and a half and they are great! I can also take them out of the tank and hand wash them with gentle soap. I have worn them both in chlorine, salt water, and river water.
Hope that helps!
