June 2012 Mastectomy

I fell great! Never really took anything other than Ibuprofen and Tylenol...I hate meds! I get little twinges still on the undersides, but other than that, really good. I'm a little larger on the left, but also had my port taken out on that side at the same time, so I think I'm more swollen. Can't wait for the "drop and fluff!" She ended up using a 700 in the left and 650 on the right. The right had a capsular contracture from radiation that she released and really worked to bring that side down. I think she did a great job...can't wait to be about 4-6 weeks out and see how they look

oh my! i never got to reply to you! thats good! how about now?i'm 4mths post op, saw the doctor again yesterday...
i was afraid i have capsule contraction on my right implant (it sometimes gets hard and then soft) but i don't...still waiting for the right to "drop and fluff" a bit more...i have a little bit of hypotrophic scaring on the bilateral incision towards my right armpit...she kept telling me to massage it and try silicone sheets for my scars...I also have a hollow curve above my right implant, she told me it was because i'm such a small petite person I don't have enough fat to smooth it out so that i could try fat injections from my inner thighs or try to gain weight (which was funny).
My implants 4 mths postop is ok.....I think the width of my boobs makes me feel huge but with a shirt on I don't feel big or small either. 700 & 650cc?!?!?! WOW!!!! I would be terrified but then I keep forgetting that every woman would look ddifferent with different amounts of cc implants in. I was 420cc with my TE and 430cc on both implants...I'm still waiting for my boobs to keep changing haha! -
I know, it kind of sounds huge and I was really surprised when she told me! I only had 450 in my TE's. I think it makes me a D. I was hoping for a B/C, but I do think I probably look like a C cup, it's just the width makes me a D or DD. No stores anywhere near me to go bra shopping, so I will wait and go while I'm in Seattle. So glad you don't have a CC...whew. Who knows when these dang things finally settle and look how they're gonna look? I guess I'm just happy to look pretty normal in clothes. I don't really want to do anything else at this point!

HAHA really?!
Well I finally got measured after my last post. I'm a 30C right now. I don't feel like it though. O_O
And it is so hard to find a bra in a 30C!!!!
I still have a bit of a hollow curve on top of my right boob, and my doctor did suggest fat injections from my thighs..or gain a lot of weight, which is still hard. I want to try that but don't know when. Fat injections takes a while but it's a painless process, but then fat dissolves...(I knew I should've done some alloderm when they did my reconstruction..oh well..)How are you now?
-
Hey JuneBugs I just wanted to check in with everyone and see where you are all at. I am doing well and I'm looking to see what's up with everyone.
I love you guys.
-
Hey NanG - Great how are you? I'm actually doing my reconstruction again. Won't be until mid March though.
-
I'm okay. Good to hear from someone. Are you having a second recon? My implants have been bugging me lately. Two year run on these saline filled silicone overfilled to 900cc? Or 1000cc? I totally forget. But they're pretty heavy and I'm tired of them. Wish I'd been brave enough to go through with the DIEP. To be honest though, not sure I'd be brave enough now to go forward with a do-over so...I put up with it.
Anyone else have phantom pain or sensations of rememberance? Mine have been really strong lately.
-
Oh I have silicone not saline. WOW 900-1000ccs?! My implants were 420cc, not sure if he'll put the same size this time or not. do wish to be a bit bigger though (in terms of projection and not width), but I'm very petite so probably can't go over 500cc's no matter how expanded my skin tissue is. I redid mine because of the scarring
and also my nipples pointed outward instead of forward (sucks to be a very slim girl), so they had to do the TEs again and placed them differently to correct the issue.
I still had a bit of nerve feeling after my bmx but when they took out my implants again and put in TEs i completely lost all the feeling. I don't feel anything now unless I graze my hand or something around and below my armpit (where the nerves were severed). Feels weird to drink hot & cold liquids though.
