On July 29 - I had a Bilateral Mastectomy with ex-panders

October 27 Colonoscopy to check for cancer

October 28 exchange to permanent implants plus total hysterectomy

December 16 - Nipple Reconstruction that failed.

Nipple reconstruction by my surgeon Dr. S.H. - within 3 days we knew that the surgery failed - the nipples turned black and then the worst pain of my life started with necrosis / infection. I had being on fire most of the time with this burning sensation. Dr. Holzman's partner did the first debridement just after Xmas on Dec 29, then a week later he came back from vacation cleaned the left side out and it is busy healing – the right side is still just not good oozing and black. After 5 surgeries in 6 months this is the most painful for me.

There is a hole the size of a quarter in my left breast and it is deep with yellow etc stuff and my right breast is turning black at the some parts of the nipple still with yellow oozing. None of all the stuff I went through is as tough as this is for me.

Are there any other people out there that had to deal with dying black rotting tissue? If so how long did it take to heal?

I could have written this myself one year ago. My nipple surgery from 12.17.13 failed. It was disgusting. I switched plastic surgeons because my PS wanted to wait it out and did not want to attempt it again--just do tattoos. I went to a different surgeon who excised the necrotic tissue. Three months later, I had it revised. Three months after that, I got the tattoos. I am happy now, but still sad that I have an extra set of scars. Not a huge deal though. Take care!
