Olaf I am envious you can do TRX, I've tried it but spent so much time laughing trying to get my feet into the loops Great job Cassie, you are the little engine that could, what time is your surgery on Friday? Odie I feel your pain, hopefully we'll be sending the warm your way, we had the freezing last week, this week the oven is turned up high, I was speaking to my friend in Tennessee tonight and she says it was 10 degrees in the mountains where she lives. Ruth those are truly tough looking machines.
Did Sh'bam this morning, didn't go to the gym tonight as I'm fighting another cold, everyone around me is coughing or spluttering, I just decided to have an early night and rest.
-
Cheryl, bummer about another cold. Your first bout was not a cakewalk. Hope you feel better soon. Sorry to hear about your friend and her mom. Hugs.
Ruth, I like the model with the cover. Does it have a heated seat? Olaf, you've reminded me to do some TRX workouts again. Odie, shivering burns calories, too.
Body Jam 71 last night. I will brave the cold and bike along the river then go to Body Combat tonight to get warm.
-
Heidi, one has to stand behind them and walk but I think you are on to something; if you invent a riding snow blower with a heated seat, come up here & market it and you will make your fortune!!!!
Speaking of which, we are under a blizzard warning starting at 9:00 this morning (snow & wind gusts to maybe 50 mph!). I should be able to make it to & back home from my exercise class before it gets too bad. Fun, fun.....I guess we are building our character!
-
Ruth, I would never leave my house if I lived in ND! This morning my alarm went off at 5 so I got out of bed to get dressed for tabata. Looked at the temp outside, 14 and lots of wind! I went back to bed😉. I plan on doing some core as I am not leaving my heated house! I am a wimp when it comes to the cold. I grew up in Venezuela and love the heat!
-
Olaf, one of my friend's son lives in Brazil. Last Christmas he brought his very sweet Brazilian girlfriend home with him. My friend laughed and laughed when she overhead the girl muttering to herself, "How can anyone live here?" (They are still together but she did NOT come home with him this year.)

Nothing is cancelled, so I am heading out......
-
Thanks everyone. I find all of your energy and positive outlooks so inspiring.

I go in at about 5:30am tomorrow, so early, early! I'm feeling nervous about what to expect afterward, both physically and emotionally. But I've gone through 6 rounds of chemo with all of its challenges, and I can do this too.
I'm planning to walk my dog later today.
-
We will all be thinking of you tomorrow, Cassie.
-
Cassie, I've got a good feeling about how tomorrow will turn out and all seems well prepared by you. Deep breath, chin up and gentle ((hugs to you)).
Pink Pilates this morning and Iyengar yoga in village hall on the hill in early afternoon and hatha yoga at the gym late afternoon.
-
Cassie, prayers and hugs for you tomorrow! We will all be thinking about you. XOXO
-
I've been good and have walked a 1/2 hr each day at work during lunch this week, it's 1.8 miles. Today it was 23 degrees and I did it, so I was pretty proud of myself! It's supposed to be a little warmer tomorrow.
-
1/8- gym is so packed right now, but I went after work, was fortunate to find a parking spot and did 45 min of resistance training and a 20 min kettle bell work out for cardio core.
-
I'm also a wimp in cold weather. The thought of leaving work and going from the cold into the gym, working out and then going back out into the cold to come home is not my idea of fun so cut out the middle and just came home and did 45 mins on the treadmill here.
Night sculpted friends.
-
Cassie- good luck tomorrow.
Mary- that was some story about trying to get to work in the snow. I think I would have given up at some point. I hope your trip is going ok
It was so cold today. 20 below with windchills. I did go to the gym after work and used the treadmill but it was very tempting to just go home and call it a day.
-
I'm with Olaf as I would never leave my house in Winter in ND....Not a huge fan of these bitter cold temps.
Will be thinking of you tomorrow Cassiecat. You will get thru this and be stronger on the other side. You got this!
As much as I would have preferred to come home to curl up with a good book and a blanket, I went to bootcamp tonight.
Edited to add that I hope Cheryl feels better soon...
-
Cassie sending warm and gentle hugs for tomorrow. Odie I am just going with the trend here in SoCal everyone I know has some sort of cold, I have the sexy voice cold and I do have swollen glands in my neck and the dry hacking cough but I'm fine, and what can you expect when we went from the 40s to the 80s in a couple of days.Props to everyone who worked out in the cold today.
Tonight I did 1/2 an hour of RPM and then Body Jam
-
Cassiecat, thinking of you this morning and sending positive vibes your way!
Hbcheryl, the trick to putting your feet in the TRX handles is, as you're sitting down facing the anchor point, put your right foot in the left cradle and left foot in the right cradle and flip over on your right side. Then start doing all those killer exercises! You can do it!
Yesterday I pounded cabbage to start my ferment of sauerkraut. It was a peck exercise😉!
Today is yoga!
-
Thanks Olaf on the TRX tip. ((((CassieCat))))
Freestyle step and body balance in the broken air con studio. Wilted does not really explain how much I sweat working out in a over heated room. Promises to have it repaired soon-sure hope so.
-
Cassie: Holding you in my thoughts and prayers.
Cheryl: Sorry about your friend's mother. Also, I hope you start feeling better! Take care.
Hi All. I'm so impressed with how active everyone is! Dh and I finished painting the dining room. Now it's cleanup time, putting the room back in order, and installing the new folding shades that started this "mess." We need to paint EVERY room but holding off when we can open up windows.
Stay warm everyone!
-
I got a last minute call to sub (in my old room, teacher has a sick kid), so I am missing yoga this morning . I must be a convert because I am disappointed! Shocking
-
Wanted to do something nice and suprise the hubby when he gets home from work tonight. Because we had enough snow to shovel this morning, I did all the snow removal. Took my time and didn't push myself too hard.
-
hi all, took today off work to see the eye doc and get the oil changed in my car.
Plugged in that Zumba DVD and bumbled through it LMAO twice this week.

OK I admit it's fun to dance when no one's watching and you can be goofy.
Have also been to the indoor track to walk and engaged in several bouts of Shovel & Sculpt.
It took 2.5 hours to get home from work yesterday so called it a night when I got home at 8 pm ugh!
-
Ruth liking yoga and Badger liking zumba? Whoo Hoo.....you CAN teach old dogs new tricks!

-
LOLOL Ruth, we're still just puppies at heart!

Got to the track for a 30-min walk this afternoon.
-
Only 30 mins on treadmill but actually did a little running and it wasn't too hard. Really want to join ruthbru and badger and get into spin and/or zumba. Think I have a zumba dvd somewhere around here so will do as badger did and make myself look good by doing it alone before I venture out to a class at the gym. Spin, that's gonna hafta wait!
Sending up prayers for everyone under the weather or working through bad weather. Night my sculpted friends.
-
Went to girls & boys basketball games this evening but did 25 minutes on the treadmill when I got home so that I would have something to report.
-
Thinking of you Cassie hoping you made it through and are now resting comfortably.
Thanks for the tip Olaf. Badger we'll make a dancer out of you woohoooooo
Tonight did Grit Strength and Body Flow Express (Body Balance to you LB) picture the Pillsbury Dough Boy doing yoga and you have a visual of me in Body Flow but I did enjoy it
-
Thanks RuthBru
I just ordered the first DVD listed based on reviews on Amazon. I'll let you know how I do.
Right now I'm procrastinating my 45 minute yoga workout. I always feel better afterwards. I know this but it's a bigger struggle when I take two days off, like I just did.
Peggy
-
I just did another of Cheryl's wonderful Combat DVDs and now am off for a busy, busy day.
Peggy, "DO THE DVD and report back to the thread,''......this is your conscience speaking!!!

-
thanks everyone! Surgery went well and I feel pretty good. Toridol is managing the pain. My exercise is walking to the bathroom. Ha ha! Hoping to walk in the hall later but seriously, I do feel good overall and am hoping to go home later today. Should get pathology back on Tuesday.
-
Yay Cassie. Listen to Ruth Peggy she's using her school marm voice
Went up to Kathys neck of the woods this morning for an awesome Body Combat class.
