I was going to post this in the Debate forum this morning, to kind of lighten things up a bit over there. Now that I can't do that, I figure Humor is the next best section...SOOOOOO...

*Dog Person* or *Cat Person*?

Anyone who is one knows exactly what I mean....

Our house? We have two dogs, one cat so not only are we "owners" but we are also "staff".

Anyhow, I'm just curious...

Hugs
Peggy

I'm like you ... 2 dogs, 1 cat ... the dogs are outdoor dogs... but still let me know when they want/need something... the cat is indoors... and rules the house .... he's very vocal...

I'm definitely a giant PIG person if you want a "dog person" to mean someone who looks like a dog.

We are staff to 2 siamese cats. Our daughter is staff to one cat and hero to a lovely doggie. Our son is staff to an aloof cat.

I love cats, but with all macho(so they think) in the house, we are dog people. But have had turtles, iguana, geckos, salamenders, you name it. No snakes though

Okay, I think it's not hard to guess which one I am with the nickname 'kats'.

However, I like to think of myself as 'pet' person...I'm owed by and staff to: 1 dog, 6 cats, 6 birds, 1 bunny and fish in a 75 gallon aquarium.

    A little of both...
I have a Cocker Spaniel named Ginger who always makes me laugh.

We have twin sister kitty cats whose mission in life is to fight over who gets to sleep in my bed.

My three baby chicks have moved from my bedroom closet where we were keeping them away from the cats to a pen in the heated garage. Hopefully they will be big enough to go join the rest of the flock in the coop SOON!!!

I'm still feeding the wild turkeys, but I don't think I can count them as pets...

Don't you count those as 'dinner'?

    Most definitely a "cat person."

Dogs have no pride, no self-control...cats are more...dignified! (and yes, that was tongue-in-cheek!)

Cats are dignified. Even when one falls off the chair..... then has the look like "I meant to do that".

I have three cats, Joey, Leo (aka STOP THAT) and Lucy.

I grew up with wire haired terrorists, I mean terriers, and recently had a chocolate lab (God rest her soul) named Sadie. She went everywhere with me. I still miss her.

My girls: Sophie and Scout...Mackeral Tabbies...love 'em to the moon and back...just treated them to tuna for breakfast...they'll be a year old next month...I had to do something for my daughter who is a nature nut...we had already gone through three hamsters...so I figured it was time for an upgrade...they bring us much happiness, despite their aloofness and fascination with the toilet, while I'm in there! What's that about?...Mena...xo

I grew up always having dogs - 5 throughout my life until I was in my early 20's. I have been owned by a cat now for 5 years. He is a wonderful kitty (Pepper - the one pictured to the left) and gets more and more loving everyday. I am considering adding to the family.

Staples, I have always loved the picture of your cat. He looks just like Boots, one of my "girls"...right down to the attitude!

My house mates are Riley and Dixie. Dixie loves the toy mouse that you put catnip inside. Everytime I buy her one, Riley puts it in the commode. It had been close to a year since she had one and I bought her another last week.
Came home from work last night, went in to use the bathroom and the water was all brown and I could see a solid in there. My thought for a moment, someone has been in this house (I live alone) but I then realized that I again had a swimming mouse and the catnip had discolored the water.
Some things never change. Poor Dixie....no mouse.

Awwwww...poor Dixie! That just sucks! For a joke, you should glue the mouse or nail it to something that Riley can't take to the bathroom and then get the camera rolling LOL.

At one point we had two dogs and three cats. All of them died from old age. So now we have the cocker spaniel "demon puppy" Max who is a real handful.

I was a cat person for 18 years (Jewels, the Siamese -- yes that's the way we spelled it -- and Lucy the grey long-haired calico). Once they started failing and my house got broken into, we got Gus, the now-70-lb Alaska sled dog. Six months later, Mattie Sue, another sled dog (named after the Matunuska-Susitna Valley -- you listening AlaskaDeb? :-) Then we lost both cats to old age and the pups are now 7. And, they rule!

The golden rule...never get a dog that weighs more than you do if you want to be in charge.

LOL Dogs. Dogs. And more dogs.......
I only have 2 at this very moment, but only because that is max for our city.
Foster dogs come and go, can't have cats because of DH allergies. Also am owned by a couple of very cute and sweet white rats.

HA! Too funny! I'm definitely NOT in charge. I bought an RV to drive my mutts to the East Coast from Alaska because I didn't have the heart to drug 'em and put 'em in the belly of an airplane. (Good times were had by all, I might add.) I won't buy a house here because I need at least an acre for my dogs. Crikey - life is ruled by my pets!!

My parents were the best when I was growing up. At one time we had 4 dogs because I kept bringing strays home. I now own our family home and only have one! How they put up with me....

Well they say owners and pets share traits and similarities. I have a dog named Sassy but I just don't see it! <smirk>

You can't find an acre of land on Neptune! I figure it would have a booming real estate market now that Pluto is no longer considered a planet. People will be moving to get out of the boonies.

Ok--I avoided posting because I can't decide if I am a dog or cat person.....we have 1 goofy golden retriever and 2 cats--Cocoa and Suca. Cocoa is probably the king of the house. He is the lover and peacemaker between suca and feathers, makes sure they are both clean and makes sure no one forgets to feed them-ever, for even a second...

These are my 2 beasts, posing nicely for a photo. LOL The only way I can get them to be this good, is to have their fav liver treats in hand.

    Jasmine-
We have ar ule at our house that you can't eat anything you name. Thus, my daughters name anything that steps foot on the property! We do break the rule when we raise meat chickens...we name them soup and dinner! The turkeys are not totally wild. A man about 2 miles away started raising them and then releasing them into the wild. We have quite a few raising babies in the woods now.

    Hey BJ-

Are your sled dogs malamutes of huskies? I was up in the Mat-su valley Monday. It was a beautiful day and the mountains are all red and gold from the berry bushes turning fall colors. It was delightful!

    Snooks-

We had 2 rats about 5 years ago. They were so cute. They knew their names and were litter box trained, so it was easy to clean their cages. The only problem was that they only lived 2.5 years

    I love the pet photos!!

Alas, Jasmine, the real estate prices here on Neptune are involved in the commonly-cursed "housing bubble." Sellers have gotten -- up until this year -- up to 400% return for the month since about 1999/2000 in the Neptune area. So, an average priced ranch on a postage stamp-sized lot, worth about $400,000 was selling for $700,000/800,000. But the bubble is flattening and we'll buy something for the mutts here in the next 6-9 months. Meanwhile, we visit Pluto every now and then just to keep up with the neighbors.

AlaskaDeb, they're huskies, pound rescues. Mattie's from Mat-Su and Gus is from Girdwood.
