Xeloda and tumor reduction

Hello friends,

I just wanted to share some good news with my sisters that may help with treatment.

I was diagnosed with mets to liver last spring.  Triple neg.  My doctor prescribed xeloda.

After a year of xeloda I had a followup scan, which showed "significant reduction of the tumor" which is now "hardly perceptible."

My oncologist wanted to look into removing and analyzing that portion of the liver for targeted gene therapy to extinguish all traces of the cancer in my liver, and prevent those cells from ever multiplying.  So I had a liver resection...

..with the results that there are no traces of any cancer in the liver.  Nothing to send out because no cancer cells.

Please don't "congratulate" me, but take hope from this.   Xeloda and luck helped me.

A little of my history is in my signature below.  After AC, Taxol and Herceptin did nothing for me, Xeloda  and Tykerb made me NED.  In my book, Xeloda is an awesome drug.  I have now been NED for almost 5 years. (Took Xeloda for 6 months, have now been on Tykerb for almost 5 years.)

Thank you.  I want women in my situation last spring to know chemo can/does work.   Not false hope, but possibilities.
