Implant that has rotated.....
I had my exchange 4 yrs ago! I just had a check up with my breast surgeon and shefeels my implant has partially detached and rotated! Also has pretty bad capsillary contraction. I just don't have time to deal with it right now so put Mri and all dr appts off until Jan! Anyone else have this? The thought of surgery makes me ill but it hurts!

I have not had this, but do know a couple women who have had one or the other. I am assuming this is an anatomical implant, as it does not matter if rounds rotate. There is always a risk of rotation with anatomicals, which is why it is very important the pocket is made to fit them, but I imagine in your case the capsular contracture has squeezed the implant out of place too, so the two issues may be quite related. The issue with rotation, other than appearance, is it can also strain the tissues and cause damage.
I am really sorry you are dealing with this, and contracture. You can get relief of the contracture with surgery (capsulectomy), though once you have had it your risk of getting it again in higher. Did you have rads on that side? Fat grafting seems to show a reduced risk of contracture on radiated breasts. Has your PS advised if you need to switch to rounds

I had my exchange in Feb 2013. I hated the result , the shape was awful, there was rippling and loose skin. I then had revision surgery Sept 2013 and although it was slightly improved I still hated the implant as it was so ugly. After a while I noticed that it sort of stuck out at the top side towards my arm.
I went back to my ps and she said they only thing to do was to take it out and use a firmer implant and hope this would solve the rippling.
I went for surgery ( my fifth!) in Sept 2014 . When the ps was marking me up prior to entering the operating room , she commented that she thought the implant had rotated 180 degrees andwas actually upside down! No wonder it was an awful shape!
After the new implant was put in I felt really happy for a few weeks. It actually looked like the shape of a breast and after yet more work on my other side I was fairly symmetrical.
Unfortunately, it did not last , after a few weeks things seemed to settle and the implant is higher than real side. Then I started to feel really uncomfortable on implant side and noticed that I have most projection at the cleavage side but none towards my arm. I think the darn thing has rotated a quarter turn and is now sideways.
I am so fed up . Can't face more surgery and how do they stop this from happening again.

thanks for more info! Yes, that side was radiated. I have an Mri this week and meet with the breast surgeon the following week. After that it's back to the plastic surgeon. I have been heavily involved with hot power yoga the past 2+ years. I do not want to give this up! It has literally helped me put my life back together. But the discomfort with my shoulders and the right chest is really preventing me from practicing yoga the way I want to. I'm grateful the cancer is not back but frustrated that when I feel I'm finally putting all this behind me something else pops up! I had a rea hard time accepting the mast. Really hard. Ok, keeping things in perspective. This is just a blip! Grateful for that
