Let's Post our Daily Exercise

12/22- spent an hour and a half at the gym today doing some resistance training for 25 minutes, 35 min on the bike and then a quick soak in the hot tub.
Cassiecat- you are still in the middle of treatment so do take it easy and as Patoo says, you will be able to get back on track with your work outs when you are past this and recovered. I hope you feel better.
I am heading out of town for a few days and going to slip off the radar for a bit, but wishing you all a peaceful holiday this week.
-
Have a great holiday, Jazzy!
-
I had a busy weekend, and yes, I managed to get in some exercise. Second round of puddings is steaming as I write this.
5k run on Friday which was dismal. Then 20+ miles of very wet cycling yesterday followed by a 2.5 mile walk with my guy. I made real scones with blackberry-plum jam (from the Orcas Island cycling trip) for when we got back in. They were wonderful, and I got off clear regarding dessert. The rack of lamb was splendid. So wonderful to reconnect in person. More 'exercise' later.
Today was a lot of running around outside as I parked in one spot and then hoofed it to various locations. This was followed by another 5k run as slept in following "more 'exercise' later".
I can't wait for Christmas dinner with my friends Amanda and Jon. I am wondering what they bought in the market today that I will need to figure out how to cook? Dessert will be pudding and Jon has asked for extra hard sauce/brandy butter. Something about using up what is left over on toast!
Raining, not snowing, in the mountains right now, so cycling until this changes.
My friend with kidney cancer has passed all the pre-requisites for the clinical trial! This is her major hope, so will be offering up major prayers. They are also taking marvelous care of her. Plus, all sorts of people are pitching in. I am beyond thankful.
Wishing everyone the most wonderful and joyous holiday ever! - Claire
-
Mary what a fabulous evening you had, the pictures are lovely. Have a wonderful vacation Jazzy. Claire how lovely to have hot scones on a wintry day.
This morning I went to Body Pump, 20 minutes into the class i had to go change the instructors little boy it took me 2 minutes to change him but 10 minutes to get his shoes back on, i felt like such an idiot
-
An early Tabatta and Core class this morning. Off to pack as we head to Houston for Christmas.
Merry Christmas everyone!
-
Mary, thanks for sharing the photos and Ruth is right, you are special. My boy turns 16 tomorrow, so I can relate, especially to your mother.
Got to the gym early this morning for a new release of body step and shopped for groceries at two packed super stores on the way home. Off to drink a cup of special holiday brew coffee and wrap some presents - christmas and birthday.
-
Last week was kind of a slug week for me as my son had his surgery - successful and thank god, ended up the minor version, but yes I've been kind of cooped up. Yesterday I went for a 30 minute walk and then about two hours shopping walking, over 13,000 steps. It felt good to get back into it. I think I have my shopping done, now onto wrapping but I'll probably have to go get the wrapping supplies.
Welcome Cassiecat. You do as much as you can and when you're all done with your surgery and chemo, you'll have plenty of time to regain your fitness.
Enjoyed the Christmas tree pics, Mary and the tree cathedral, Lilac.
Congrats to Patoo and Kindergarten. Patoo I had noticed you really keeping up with your exercising. I'm proud of you both! Carbs are a disaster for my appetite and weight. It took me 17 years to discover that!
-
I was on a real roll there for a couple of weeks but I've been off the wagon again for several days. I'll treat it like they say about quitting smoking - 'Keep quitting'. In my case with exercise it's more of a 'Keep starting'! mantra instead. All you gals from the 2014 California trip remember that I wasn't feeling up to par that week, right? I ended up losing about 10 lbs from that bug by the time it was over. I've not only gained that 10 lbs back but nearly another 10 on top of that! Darn plantar fasciitis got me out of the habit and it's just been really hard to get back in!
-
Two - so glad for the good surgical outcome for your DS. Having been on both sides of it, I think it some ways it's easier to be the patient undergoing surgery than it is to be the worried loved one sitting in that surgical waiting room. So glad you were able to get out to do a bit of shopping - always a mental health booster! Olaf and everyone else who is traveling this season - be safe and have a wonderful trip! Cheryl - I'm impressed with anyone who can change a diaper. Believe it or not I have never changed a diaper in my life. I never had kids, or even nieces/nephews (I'm an only child) and never did much babysitting as a teen, so the opportunity has just never arisen. And at this point in life I intend to keep it that way!
PT session this morning - she's really working me! I'm halfway through my 10 sessions now, and can really tell the difference. She's strengthening muscles I never even knew I had.
By the way, anyone want a quick easy exercise to build balance and leg strength? Stand on one leg while you brush your teeth, switching halfway through. I've been doing that for a couple of weeks now, and it's a surprisingly effective little exercise!
-
Glad DS is doing okay, TH.
Safe travels to all on the move this week.
I am kind of glad that we are staying home & nobody is trying to get to us because we are in a rain/sleet/snow watch until tomorrow evening. Yikes!
No YMCA classes the next two weeks so I am on my own. Did a FIRM Cardio Dance & a pilates DVD this morning, invited a friend over for coffee, and may now take a nap
. -
Taking a nap in middle of the afternoon - some people just have all the fun! S&S, don't worry, you will get it back. Just keep on starting over, every day start again.
30 mins on treadmill. Now going to pull out clothes to pack tomorrow. Don't dare pack tonight as will just repack tomorrow so why bother!
Night my sculpted friends.
-
Have fun in the sun, patoo!
-
Another 30 minutes on the treadmill - barely a mile, but it's moving!
-
Glad your DS is okay TH. Patoo enjoy your Florida getaway, Ruth your weather sounds miserable, stay safe and warm inside. Sweet you'll jump back on the exercise bandwagon, i too have plantar fascitis, seems i have been over compensating for my neuroma foot so he told me to stretch, if it ain't one thing its anothe Mary i heard that standing on one foot then switching was a great thing to do to retain your balance as you get older.
Tonight did Cardio Dance Party class, i probably shouldn't have cause i needed to ice, ice baby when i got home, danged foot

-
Did my PT exercises this morning.
-
I'm so glad I found this thread. It's nice to read what you all are doing and have a place to share. I did day 2, week 1 of my couch to 5k program. I'm feeling better today, so my pace was a little better. There's still no actual jogging, but at least there's walking!

-
Did yoga on Sunday (found some new videos to try) and rowed 5000K on my rower yesterday. Spending today sitting in the car on the way to North Carolina to see my daughter and her hubby in their new house, and then on to Baltimore on Friday to see my son and his wife who are in from Seattle. Very happy, I haven't seen him since January when I was deep in chemoland! Will have to take the dog for a good walk when we get to NC today!
-
You are doing awesome, Cassie!
Enjoy your family time, Rhody & say hello to North Carolina for me!
Our Walking Wednesday Women met a day early since we will be deep into preparations tomorrow. This picture from when we went caroling at a nursing home the other night. The honorary member in the middle is a 91 year old retired teacher who joined us in a rendition of 'We Wish You a Merry Christmas'; she singing the first verse in German!

-
Cassie you are amazing starting couch to 5k. Rhoddy enjoy the time with your kids. LB hope your DS had a great birthday. Ruth fun group.
This morning did Grit Strength and tonight did Body Jam, had to stop at Target on the way home and get myself some Aleve i did a lot of squats today and my quads are already feeling tight so i know in the morning i will really 'feel' it
-
Getting plenty of excercise today with making the pies and doing prep for tommorrow
-
hi ladies, just passed my five-year dx anniversary. So thankful to be here and have you all in my life!
Worked late Mon and DH had a nice supper ready when I got home so we ate, snuggled on the couch, and fell asleep watching Antiques Roadshow. What a couple of romantic slobs! Spent last night baking the last of the Christmas cookies. I have a lovely assortment including: rum balls, Christmas tree-shaped spritz, mini cherry cheesecakes, rugelach, and good old chocolate chip. We're headed to MIL's house where folks will gather. Roast beef dinner tonight and ham tomorrow. (BIL works at Oscar Mayer and they gift him a ham each year for Christmas.) Not much formal exercise these last few days but I do have an onc apt in mid-Jan so am looking ahead and not being super 'bad' this holiday season. Merry Christmas to those who celebrate, and ♥ to all.
-
Congratulation on the 5 year mark, Badger!
I already made cherry/blueberry crisp this morning, can stay on here no more than 5 minutes, will go down & do some abs & then start the rest of the Christmas Eve dinner 'stuff'. Badger, my SIL, in a very thoughtful but misguided gesture, send both me & my sister spritz cookies (wreath shaped) through the mail . For those not familiar with spritz, they are not exactly a sturdy cookie. Of the 2 dozen, 8 wreaths were still intact.

Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays! Your presence in my life is a wonderful present to me!!!!!
-
badger, congrats!!! That is so wonderful, and encouraging.
-
Congratulations Badger on getting to this amazing milestone...you are a real inspiration. While I am just in the beginning of this journey, I look forward to posting when I hit 5 years out too. Happy holidays to all my bc online friends!!!!

-
Congrats, Badger!!! Isn't passing the 5 year mark wonderful. I celebrated for 4 months. Just finished up my shopping for my friends I am visiting tomorrow. They WANT second hand, so off to Value Village. I am amazed at the people who can't do simple things such as degrease a Calphalon pan. Almost new and $9.99. All degreased and in the dishwasher now as also got a Cuisinart pan for a similar sum. Books for their son including one on Time Traveling. BTW - the two pieces of cookware are for Jon, not Amanda.
Did some work today which was mostly following up on stuff and some very boring data entry.
I need to write my Christmas email which I will get out sometime in the next few days. But off to the supermarket first for confectioners' sugar. Need enough for that hard sauce/brandy butter. One day, I will frost devil's food cupcakes with this.
Wishing all who celebrate the Merriest of Christmases. - Claire
-
Stopping in after being MIA for a few days but have been exercising.
Welcome Cassie. Hope all those feeling under the weather are much better now. Twohobbies, glad son's procedure was minor and wish him a speedy recovery too! Happy birthday Natsfan.
Ran 2 miles per day on Friday, walked over 14,000 steps Saturday finishing shopping, etc, ran again Monday. Limited exercise for the next couple of days but will get back on track Friday.
Wanted to wish everyone safe travels and happy holidays/Merry Christmas.Thank you to everyone here for the encouragement and friendships.
-
I walked a little over a mile today, to and from an appointment.
Happy Christmas Eve to all celebrating.

-
Congratulations on reaching the 5 year milestone Badger. Happy Birthday Mary, celebrate and enjoy a margarita (or two).
Wishing all who celebrate a very, very Merry Christmas
-
Rhody, enjoy the visits with your kids! Congrats Badger on your 5 year mark - woo-hoo! Ruth, cute picture. I always enoy the goings-on of the Wednesday Walkers.
Claire people definitely will give away and throw out perfectly good stuff which is to others' advantage! I have a cuisinart omelet pan I got 22 years ago and still use it every day.
Thanks all on the get well wishes for my son. Still healing but glad its over.
I did manage to walk 30 minutes yesterday and 45 on Tuesday and like Odie, did a few thousand additional steps shopping Monday and Tuesday. I'm proud to say I kept my food indulgences to a minimum too. I stuck to chicken, crab salad, and green salad at our Christmas Eve celebration, avoided the brownies and ice cream and had only two Fannie Mae candies. .
Merry Christmas everyone. We have sun which I think we've seen about four hours worth in recent weeks so I hope to get my family out for a walk before or after dinner.
-
Merry Christmas to YOU!
TwoHobbies, sending healing thoughts to your son and taking a walk while it's sunny is perfect. Badger, congrats on reaching the five year milestone-terrific! Happy Birthday Mary and so much fun that it all comes at once. Ruth is that a member of club penguin I see in the photo? Cheryl, easy does it on the foot, Claire, how was the pudding, Cassiecat,Odie, Pita, Mommy, Rhody, S&S, Olaf, Patoo festive greetings shout out.
Got to the gym yesterday for freestyle step and today, with family, phone calls to family up north and in the states, plus turkey dinner that was only an hour off schedule. Been watching Dr. Who and now
