edited December 2014 in Waiting for Test Results

Why can't we all just go through life without having turkey basters shoved in our boobs that make an awful stapler-like sound? I am sure so many of you reading this can completely agree.

I am a 29 year old mother of 2. I have had two fibroadenoma's diagnosed in my past (at 19 and 27) but damn the waiting never gets easier. Last Monday I found a marble sized lump in my right breast at 5 o'clock. Thursday night I noticed my nipple had some yellow crust like discharge and the lump had grown in size to the point it distorted the underside of my boob. I am really small chested so the appearance change didn't really bother me since really any change would be noticable. But I thought it best just to get checked out since my maternal grandmother is a thriving BC survivor herself. Friday was the typical myriad of visits, Doctors office to the imaging center for a mammogram then to the us. Radiologist said it is a solid mass and would need to do a core biopsy. (birads4) In the past my dr's took their time scheduling my mammogram and then the FNA. But this time they scheduled my core biopsy for this morning, less than a week from initial appointment. They took 6 biopsies and placed a Titanium clip which shall now be called Titan. I will think of him as the keeper of the lump. I know in my mind that these results will almost certainly be another fibro but this waiting honestly sucks. Everything this time around has been different. Just wanted to get these feeling of anxiety and fear of the unknown off my chest and in to the universe.

Stay strong ladies. Kinda all we can do at this point :)

Libra79 thank you and I am hoping your results come in quickly and show benign results. I know how hard this waiting game is but hopefully we will get our results sooner rather than later.

And thanks Mods. This site has truly been a bright spot during the past week.

Libra any news yet? My results have come in but when I called the nurse said the nurse practioner had to review the results with my dr and they would call me back. That was at 9:30 this morning and their office closed at noon. I cannot imagine waiting thru the weekend for results. I was really hoping to be able to put this all behind me. Ugh. Hurry up and wait.

I can't believe how many times that happens to women. To me, they deserve a special condo in hell. it almost makkes me wish they would get cancer themselves, so that they would see what it's like, especially the waiting. No, I don't get angry much, but it is unbelievable how many times i see this waiting over the weekend happening.

It is shameful the way some people have to wait. My PCP rang me at work as soon as she got my core biopsy results. ( I had to console her!). My onc rang me late on a Friday evening as soon as he got my oncotype result. So it can be done.

I wish you the best possible B9 results ladies and hope you do not have to wait much longer.

My doctor just called and said the words everyone hopes to hear, "ITS BENIGN" !!!!! He would like me to have it removed but said we can wait until after the new year to discuss that step. I can't say thank you enough to the women on these boards who helped reassure me through the waiting game. My continued thoughts are with each and every one of you but thankfully this site is one I will not have to join. This experience has taught me how important SBE's are and early detection really transforms this ugly disease into a managable illness. Here's to many more years of feelin' myself up.

    All the best,

    Court

    very happy for you :)

Please keep doing tests , for example ultrasound every six to tweleve months. Quite helpful for women with history of fibroadenoma
