understanding ER/PRO results

Hi there. I am trying to understand my pathology report. it's possible that my bs may or may not have explained it to me and was just a blur. I was diagnosed with dcis found in a fibroidenoma tumor.

Er positive Quantitation 100% intensity of straining Strong

Pr positive Quantitation 60% intensity of straining moderate

If anyone can explain what the er/pr means.

    Thanks kay! With all of my consultations all doctors agreed tamoxifen would not be a difficult option for me (35 yrs old no children yet).

    Does being ER/PR positive have anything to do with reoccurrance?
